The GMT of my dreams

4.7

I just acquired this Rolex GMT-Master II ref. 16710, and it's a personal holy grail that's finally coming true. Originally, I was mainly drawn to the Pepsi bezel, legendary and instantly recognizable. But over time, I began to really appreciate the Coke version—and today, I find its deep burgundy red gives it a much more understated and refined elegance. It fits perfectly on my small wrist. And to top it all off, I naturally fitted it with a Rolex Jubilee bracelet, which suits it perfectly. This combination gives the watch a touch of suppleness and lightness, while reinforcing its vintage-chic look, which I adore. As for the movement, the caliber 3185 is exemplary in its fluidity. Changing the time zone is a real pleasure, and the precision remains remarkable despite the years. This is a watch I've been waiting for for a long time, and I'm still in that phase of wonder every time I put it on my wrist. It has that timeless quality, somewhere between watchmaking heritage and understated charm, that never tires of it. PS: If you're considering upgrading to a Jubilee bracelet, beware of exaggerated pre-owned prices. The 62510H model is still available from Rolex for €1,150. As for the insert, Rolex no longer sells them separately; they only sell them as a workshop replacement, and the price is €62. But be careful, they only change it to the original color of your watch. Hence the rarity and the skyrocketing prices for those who want a new look (Pepsi, Coke, or all black).
