Thank you Hamilton for thinking of chicken wrists!! This Murph 38 is really superb!! Very elegant and at the same time sporty like a field. The work on the case and the bezel is superb with an alternation of polished and brushed. The original design contributes to giving this watch its character with its cathedral hand. Small downsides: the bracelet, very hard and the Lume ... disappointing next to Seiko. Too bad for 100m of water resistance that we do not have a screwed crown but hey we are not going to complain 100m is better than the other Field at 50m. I wear it often but not enough because of my damn addiction to the date ... and yes we have problems in life 😉 in short I love this watch and in addition, it seems that it is famous thanks to its appearance in a film ...

The first watch is often the same thing; you end up not wearing it anymore but you know you'll never sell it. That's what happened to me with my Hamilton Jazzmaster Viewmatic. This very classic watch, which I wore a lot, ended up getting tired of me but I never stopped finding many qualities in it: beautiful case finish, pretty black embossed dial and a general elegance that make it a very interesting dress watch... but, despite everything, a little boring. To give it a little more character I decided to change the white date disc for a black disc that matches the dial better. A small detail that changes everything and that I recommend to any owner of this watch. Since then I see it differently and I wear it again with pleasure

My first vintage watch, dating from 1978 which corresponds to my year of birth, bought for my birthday in November 2023, this little Hamilton pilot GG-W-113 is a watch issued by the US Army during the Vietnam War. History: In 1967, the US Army (the US Air Force) began producing the GG-W-113 for its pilots. 3 brands were selected (among others) by the US government: Benrus, Hamilton, Waltham and Marathon. Early examples do not feature any text on the dial, unlike the Marathon watches of the late 1980s. Fifteen jewel movements were required as a minimum, as was the use of tritium luminous material, until the specification was rescinded in 1987. MIL-W-3818B specifications: 1. A 15/17 jewel hand-wound movement 2. Able to withstand shock and survive a 4-foot drop onto a block of wood 3. Daily accuracy of +/- 30 seconds 4. Must be water-resistant 5. Luminous hands for readability at all times 6. Must be anti-magnetic 7. A hacked central seconds hand 8. A minimum power reserve of 36 hours Quite a program... I had been looking for a vintage watch from my birth year for 2 years, I was also looking for a Tissot seastar from 1978 that looks like the PRX but impossible to get my hands on it, so I came across this superb Hamilton whose history I know well, it is in some way the descendant of the khaki field that I particularly like and being a fan of pilot's watches I could only fall for this watchmaking icon. Having owned this watch for over 10 years, I can only emphasize the robustness of this piece. No problems to report, no breakdowns. Movement rather correct in terms of precision for this price range (ETA movement). Its rather thin case and an ideal size of 40mm make it very pleasant to wear on a daily basis. The open heart adds a real touch of originality and brings this beautiful timepiece to life. This is my first mechanical watch, so I have a pleasant memory of this first purchase which opened the doors to my passion for watchmaking.

In my possession for over 10 years, I still enjoy wearing this Jazzmaster with its partially openwork dial. The only brown watch in my collection, I love the sunburst and the way the light highlights each element of the dial. A watch that I wear regularly and that I appreciate for its precision, not one revision and it is still as precise!

My Hamilton khaki field GMT watch that I bought about ten years ago has followed me on so many adventures and trips that it is the ultimate watch for the adventurer, waterproof 200 meters GMT. I don't wear it much anymore, but when I take it out again, it brings back a sense of nostalgia, I still love it as much.

This watch is simply the definition of discretion. With its black case and its 38mm diameter it is very sober especially with the anthracite or black NATO. But being black it could match perfectly with flashier NATO bracelets. On the other hand I find the horns too long to put on a pin or folding bracelet. It is very robust because I do not pay attention when I wear it and the case is immaculate level scratch even with a magnifying glass. On the other hand 5atm of waterproofness I find it a shame I think that 10atm would have been perfect for a field watch with which I do not want to pay attention. The luminova shines super well and makes it precise to read even at night. The double scale and the indexes make it the watch with the most readable time that I have owned.

I bought this Hamilton at the beginning of my romance with watches. I was quickly attracted to chronographs, but unfortunately I couldn't afford a Daytona or a Speedmaster. No problem, I found my pleasure with this chronograph with the assertive design of a historic brand (and in particular for chronographs). I wore it a lot, and with it I feel like I'm stronger because it's so imposing (42mm all the same and a nice thickness of almost 15mm). It has a lot of assets to defend itself, the dial is super well worked and full of details, all giving a rendering as elegant as sporty. An open back allows you to appreciate the Valjoux 7750 decorated by Hamilton. The precision is good and the power reserve comfortable for me who likes to change watches daily. I appreciate the integration of the pushers and the crown signed by this chronograph. The crown is not screwed but the water resistance is announced at 100m, which is appreciable on a chronograph (moreover I did many dives of 4-5m with it before knowing that it was not at all recommended). I like its comfort even if I find it today a little heavy and bulky compared to my new watches which are often smaller. In short it is an excellent instrument to measure the cooking time of pasta! The big plus is that it is easy to find this model second-hand and to treat yourself to a mechanical chronograph for a few hundred euros.

The Khaki field mechanical is THE field watch par excellence! An iconic watch, loaded with history, it was the GI's issued watch for many years. Now attached to the Swatch Group, the brand offers timepieces that respect this heritage. Concretely we have a 38mm case, ideal proportions as far as I'm concerned. Be careful, the lugs are quite long. This manual winding version allows a contained thickness of 9.5 mm. The sandblasted steel finish will protect it from scratches and other knocks. The dial is simple and very readable. The ETA-derived caliber (Swatch Group obliges) is reliable, precise and offers a beautiful power reserve of almost 80 hours. The khaki Nato strap is perfectly in line with the adventurous spirit of the watch. Be careful, however, if replaced by a classic double strap, a large space appears between the case and the strap. Quite unsightly to tell the truth. In the end, a great daily watch, a faithful companion that accompanies me on all my outdoor adventures.
