The Khaki field mechanical is THE field watch par excellence! An iconic watch, loaded with history, it was the GI's issued watch for many years. Now attached to the Swatch Group, the brand offers timepieces that respect this heritage.
Concretely we have a 38mm case, ideal proportions as far as I'm concerned. Be careful, the lugs are quite long. This manual winding version allows a contained thickness of 9.5 mm. The sandblasted steel finish will protect it from scratches and other knocks. The dial is simple and very readable.
The ETA-derived caliber (Swatch Group obliges) is reliable, precise and offers a beautiful power reserve of almost 80 hours.
The khaki Nato strap is perfectly in line with the adventurous spirit of the watch. Be careful, however, if replaced by a classic double strap, a large space appears between the case and the strap. Quite unsightly to tell the truth.
In the end, a great daily watch, a faithful companion that accompanies me on all my outdoor adventures.

The soldier's watch

My first Japanese watch. I had to have a Seiko in my collection. 
This one ticked all the boxes, green is my favorite color, its green sunray dial is magnificent, and perfectly set by its gold indexes and numbers. The cathedral hands complete the set and make this dial the essential element of this timepiece. 
The 39mm size will suit most wrists. Seiko should take inspiration from it for its Presage range. 
The 20 ATM water resistance makes it a real tool watch. 
The mountain being one of my passions, the "alpinist" heritage obviously speaks to me. 
However, I find many flaws in it. It is thicker than its previous version sarb017. There is no longer a claw on the crown. The cyclops was dispensable. The white background of the date too. Finally, the precision is poor, 25 seconds for mine. The problem is known. 
In short, a lot of annoying details but nothing that is a deal breaker for me. With its dial, damn it, I forgive it everything.

Alpinist, perfectly imperfect

The Tissot Le Locle Powermatic 80 was my first automatic watch, my entry into the world of watchmaking 5 years ago. I was looking for an automatic watch from a recognized Swiss brand. It perfectly met my expectations. It is a very classy watch with its black dial with a "clous de Paris" finish and its Roman numerals. The well-crafted transparent back reveals the Powermatic 80 movement, derived from the classic ETA 2824.
This movement has animated the forums in recent years, with its supposedly plastic parts that divide enthusiasts and purists.
As far as I am concerned, I am perfectly satisfied with it. After several years of use, it is still as reliable and precise (2 seconds + per day). Nothing to do with the 6R35 of my Seiko :)
The sapphire crystal offers great security and allows you not to worry too much about your watch on a daily basis. Here again, Tissot is teaching Seiko and the hardlex of its presage range a lesson.
The metal bracelet is very comfortable and allows the watch to be forgotten.
The proportions are correct, with its diameter of 39.3 mm and its thickness of 10 mm. Well, to quibble I think that a diameter of 37 or 38 mm would have been sufficient for a dress watch, Tissot would benefit from following the current trend of down sizing.
In conclusion, I recommend this beautiful piece to anyone wishing to acquire an affordable, serious and timeless timepiece.

The serious and affordable dress watch

My first diver. I was looking for a professional diver, present but not too imposing, with a strong identity but from a recognized brand.
I found it at Oris, an independent brand conveying beautiful values.
Its dark blue sunray dial plays with the reflections of light. The 41.5 MM diameter ensures a beautiful presence on the wrist, but the short horns sit very well on my chicken wrist.

The almost perfect watch! You can do anything with it! It is robust, I love the brushed steel, I feel like the watch is impossible to scratch. The falsely patinated indexes are magnificent, the luminescent material works wonderfully and for a long time! Reading the time couldn't be easier, the NATO strap is comfortable, the little touches of leather add that little something extra. The 80-hour power reserve is very appreciable. The hands are basic but very effective, and the slightly domed sapphire crystal is anti-reflective, which is very pleasant! There is also a stop second, which is not always the case on watches in this price range. I absolutely love everything about this watch that can be worn in any circumstance. With its iconic design, its features, and its history, I find that the price is really more than justified! It’s hard to do better, for me the Khaki Field is really Hamilton’s centerpiece (with the Ventura which we hear a little less about). The only downside, if we have to find one, is its water resistance to only 50 meters, certainly it’s not a watch whose purpose is to go in the water, but a water resistance to 100m would have really been the icing on the cake.

My Hamilton Khaki Action Sport automatic, 40 mm, from 2005 is in new condition. It is a watch that I am very attached to. I put a suede leather strap on it that suits it very well. The removable crown protector gives it originality. The matte case plays into its discretion. I like it very much.

My Hamilton khaki field GMT watch that I bought about ten years ago has followed me on so many adventures and trips that it is the ultimate watch for the adventurer, waterproof 200 meters GMT. - 50m water resistance, yes, you won't be able to swim with sharks with it... but you can wash dishes, take a shower, or even go swimming.
- The bronze patinas very quickly and unevenly; you have to like the raw quality of the material.

In short, it ticks all the boxes for me;

Hamilton Khaki field mechanical in 38 mm. I had the beige strap mounted on it, it did not suit me, lack of comfort. I opted for a 2-piece nato which changed everything.
