My journey with Cartier began in 2023 with this limited edition Santos Dumont. I've always loved the Santos' style, especially its shape that perfectly hugs the wrist. However, something held me back; I think it was mainly the lack of robustness. But as my collection grew, I became more interested in models I wouldn't wear every day. And that's certainly the case with this Dumont, which I wear only very rarely, but which makes a statement every time I do. The only drawback with Cartier is the lack of an anti-reflective coating. It's a shame when you offer such beautiful dials.

My story with Zenith began thanks to a friend who owns a Chronomaster Open. My interest in the brand had been limited until then. After doing some research beyond the well-known fact that "Zenith supplied the Daytona for years," I realized the horological legend I'd been missing. So I went to my authorized dealer several times to try them on, and although I'm not usually drawn to white dials, this one instinctively caught my eye. I should also add that my wife, who was with me at the time, even said, "I think it's more beautiful than the Daytona" (referring to the colored subdials). I'll always remember that moment.

And so, a week later, I decided to buy it, and it has since become the watch I wear most often.

The only reason it doesn't get a 5/5 rating is its price, which is, I must say, exorbitant. However, I believe that no brand I am interested in would get 5/5 for value for money today, as inflation has become so outrageous.

The story begins a long time ago. My father received a classic Reverso from my mother for his 50th birthday (25 years ago). I think that my love for watches began at that moment. Although I now have a well-stocked collection, the Reverso has always remained present but distant, perhaps I was aware of the fact that I would rarely wear it. But after giving one to my wife for the birth of our daughter, I started to take an interest in the model again. But there are so many... The choice would certainly have been more difficult if I had not attended a masterclass on watchmaking at the famous Jaeger boutique on Place Vendôme in Paris during which I fell in love with this duoface model with moon phase. It was a few years ago now, but when I had the opportunity to get my hands on this model, I jumped at the chance. It is too recent for my opinion to be final, however I remain captivated by the level of details and finishes that undoubtedly make it a watch for "big boys" to "Frenchify" the Anglo-Saxon expression. Of course, the moon phase is not the most useful complication nor is it used the most, but what a pleasure for the eyes, especially when there are 2 in the same watch. A detail that has its importance: the different sets of bracelets provided with the watch. I think that is what I particularly like in current fashion trends: we allow ourselves to wear it whenever we want, when we want, even a Reverso so dressed with jeans and a t-shirt. This approach speaks to me a lot.

Watchmaking is a very strange passion sometimes. We all know it, we think we are satisfied when we buy our first watch by saying to ourselves "that's it, I have the watch of my dreams, it will calm me down for a while". And then a few months later - or year(s) for the most patient - we say to ourselves "having a collection requires eclecticism, so why not this one?". And then we find ourselves buying a new watch as soon as the opportunity arises or finances allow it. For me Glashütte Original has always been synonymous with prestige. But, I think it took me a while to really get interested in their models due to the lack of an official store. Far from being a criticism, this allows watch lovers to have access to a fabulous brand that does not pay for pharaonic marketing campaigns. Swatch Group certainly, but with the DNA of a high-precision watchmaker and specifications worthy of a 100% independent store. The only problem is that the model I like the most is no longer in the catalog. So I turned to Chrono24 (for the first time) to find the model of my dreams: the Senator Hand Date with matte black dial. A little apprehension when buying, but once I received the watch, I must say that it is probably one of those that had the most effect on me. Refined, elegant, with a sporty chic side, for me it is a watch that can be worn in all contexts, an essential criterion. The little detail that made me fall in love? The subtlety of the reverse date sub-dial. My purchase was therefore above all influenced by the emotion that the design of the watch gave me, the DNA and authenticity of the brand, and the level of details for a price that defies all competition (even Grand Seiko...). Only one problem: the addiction to Glashütte Original begins, and it seems impossible to stop.

Not much to say really. This watch ticks all the boxes and it would certainly be the one I would keep if there was only one left. It can be worn in all contexts depending on its strap, which I particularly appreciate. Historic, comfortable, sporty but classic, in short: legendary. The chronograph that every collector must have. The Omega Seamaster Diver 300 has nothing to envy the Rolex Submariner in my opinion. Yes, I compare it because it suffers from this comparison. With its helium valve, its resistance to 300m and its magnificent wave dial, it is for me the reference in terms of diving in recent years. The sports watch goes everywhere.

I have had this watch for a month now, and I am still in love with it every time I put it on my wrist. In a few words, what made me fall for it: the exemplary finishes of the case, the ceramic bezel matching the ceramic dial reflect a different shade of blue at every moment of the day, we never get tired of it... the bracelet, although often criticized, is in my opinion part of the identity of these Diver 300M (as is the helium valve by the way), we like it or not, I love it. It's good to see something other than the 3-link bracelets that we find on the majority of steel bracelets... the finishes are also impeccable, and the micro-adjustment system does its job perfectly. This time again, because of its bracelet and its 42mm diameter, it is better not to have a chicken wrist, moreover this watch is not forgotten on the wrist due to its fairly significant weight. The only small criticism I could make of it is the feeling when turning the bezel which could be a bit more pleasant. Nothing prohibitive for me (given the rare times I use it anyway). In terms of movement, nothing to report, this is my second Omega and I now think we can trust them in this area, precision and robustness are there. It is also always a pleasure to be able to admire this one through the sapphire crystal back although I spend much less time looking at it than the 8900 which equips my other watch and which is in my opinion a little more beautiful to look at. In short, it has been a month since it took first place in terms of time spent on my wrist and I am afraid that will not change anytime soon!

A well-deserved reputation

Conquered by the secret agent and the watches, the Seamaster had all the assets that made me buy this diver, its indexes, its bezel, its caliber (+0.2s/day), its hands, its case brushing, its transparent back and its double anti-reflective sapphire, we have the impression of being in the watch and what can we say about its indexes which stay lit all night. Everything is perfect for me, even the helium valve is its charm. Its effect is both a toolwatch and a distinguished watch, but still present, it goes everywhere and rarely leaves me. A watch for all occasions

The Seamaster Diver 300M is a watch that embodies elegance, robustness and precision. Its iconic design made famous by the James Bond license features a wavy ceramic dial reminiscent of ocean waves. The factory ceramic of this Seamaster constantly plays with light. It is a real pleasure to look at it. Its co-axial movement is of formidable precision. This Seamaster is elegant, precise and reliable. Its design with the unscrewable Helium valve at 10 o'clock will not please everyone and yet that is what makes it unique. I am happy to have acquired it 20 years after having had views on the first models of this watch.

Elegant in all circumstances!

You either love it or hate it! For its hexagonal bezel, its helium escape valve at 10 o'clock, and its skeleton hands... Personally, that's what won me over; this diver has its own unique identity. I prefer this model to the new Seamaster Diver, as I like the dial of the older ones with its enamel finish (black for mine). I'm not a fan of these new "wave" dials, but hey, to each their own...

The seconds hand with its red tip adds a nice touch. The raised, encircled hour markers with blue Luminova look fantastic. Its magnificent and incredibly comfortable bracelet lives up to Omega's quality standards. The clasp is excellent, but a quick-adjustment half-link would have been a welcome addition. Winding the crown is quite surprising; it feels like winding through "nothing," with very little resistance. The case back is really nice, just the way I like them, with embossed engravings.

When you hold this Seamaster in your hands, you really get the feeling of a very high-quality watch.

A companion, a friend who gives me so much happiness and strength! No but seriously how can one be so gaga over a metallic object of a few cm2 and yet …..
Maybe because its mostly polished brushed case is highlighted by a few subtle touches of mirror polish or the ceramic bezel and dial give it an incredible shine and variations of tones! 

At the same time sporty, original, elegant and surprising, present on the wrist it is not ostentatious. It also knows how to be forgotten with its fine and quick adjustment of the steel bracelet! 
The icing on the cake, 007 highlighted it on the screen, a star recognizable among a thousand … iconic and timeless!
