A l'occasion des 2 ans de mon premier achat de montre de « luxe », me voilà pour vous donner un avis sur cette magnifique Frédérique Constant Highlife.

Choix :
Pour commencer, le choix de la montre. J’ai longtemps hésité entre la Frédo et une Tag Heuer Carrera. La Tag avait l’avantage de la popularité de sa marque, élément auquel je n’étais pas insensible. Je voulais un nom connu pour un premier achat, sûrement pour combler un complexe. Heureusement, j’ai fini par me détacher de cet aspect puéril pour m’orienter vers la Highlife, qui m’avait été recommandé par une initiée. D’autant que quitte à prendre une Carrera, autant que celle-ci soit chrono, surtout pour un amateur de sport mécanique.

Achat :
Pour l’achat, j’ai voulu la prendre neuve, une fois encore, une histoire de premier achat. En boutique, elle était affichée à 1 895 euros si je me souviens bien et nous pouvions la trouver sur Chrono24 aux alentours de 1 400. Finalement, c’est une annonce Leboncoin de cette beauté d’à peine 3 mois qui m’a convaincue. Affichée à 1 200 euros, j’ai pu la négocier à 900 euros au propriétaire qui semblait pressé. Pour l’anecdote, il avait changé pour une Bell&Ross.

Esthétique :
Concernant la montre, je ne m’en lasse pas. Son cadran mate est sublimé par le verre et je suppose grâce au traitement de ce dernier. Tous les reflets sont magnifiques, qu’ils viennent d’une lumière naturelle ou non. 
Cela m’arrive au moins une fois par jour de la regarder et d’avoir un beau reflet qui me fait dire à chaque fois : « Elle est vraiment magnifique ! ».
Les index sont clairs et la lecture de l’heure est très simple sur cette montre.

Bracelets :
La montre est livrée avec 2 bracelets, un en acier et un autre en silicone. Je la porte 80 % du temps sur le bracelet acier car je trouve qu’elle se positionne mieux et que c’est aussi ce que je cherchais dans l’achat de cette montre, une monte acier. Le bracelet en silicone est très joli et donne un très beau look à la montre, surtout l’été.
La double boucle déployante du bracelet acier semble solide et est très agréable à utiliser.

Fiabilité :
Je ne sais pas si cela vient de mon mode de vie ou de la montre, mais le remontage de cette dernière est semble-t-il léger en automatique. Au début, je pensais qu’un montre automatique devrait se remonter toute seule et que je n’aurai pas de problème. Bien que je travaille sur un bureau, je reste actif et marche un peu mais visiblement cela n’est pas suffisant. La montre avait donc tendance à s’arrêter régulièrement.
Pour palier à ça, je la remonte tous les matins et également le soir lorsque je la retire.

Défaut :
Si je devais lui en trouver un, je dirais le bracelet intégré. Pas son esthétisme car le résultat est top, mais simplement la complexité pour trouver d’autres bracelets en dehors de ceux FC. Je suppose que c’est un problème pour toutes les montres ayant un bracelet intégré.

Choice:
To begin with, the choice of the watch. I hesitated for a long time between the Frédo and a Tag Heuer Carrera. The Tag had the advantage of the popularity of its brand, an element to which I was not insensitive. I wanted a well-known name for a first purchase, surely to fill a complex. Fortunately, I ended up detaching myself from this childish aspect to move towards the Highlife, which had been recommended to me by an insider. Especially since if I'm going to take a Carrera, it might as well be a chronograph, especially for a motorsport enthusiast.

Purchase:
For the purchase, I wanted to take it new, once again, a story of a first purchase. In the store, it was listed at 1,895 euros if I remember correctly and we could find it on Chrono24 for around 1,400. Finally, it was a Leboncoin ad for this beauty that was barely 3 months old that convinced me. Listed at 1,200 euros, I was able to negotiate it down to 900 euros from the owner who seemed in a hurry. For the record, he had changed for a Bell&Ross.

Aesthetics:
As for the watch, I never get tired of it. Its matte dial is enhanced by the glass and I suppose thanks to the treatment of the latter. All the reflections are magnificent, whether they come from natural light or not.
It happens to me at least once a day to look at it and have a beautiful reflection that makes me say every time: "It's really beautiful!".
The indexes are clear and reading the time is very easy on this watch.

Straps:
The watch comes with 2 straps, one in steel and one in silicone. I wear it 80% of the time on the steel strap because I find that it sits better and that's also what I was looking for when buying this watch, a steel strap. The silicone strap is very pretty and gives the watch a very nice look, especially in the summer.
The double folding clasp of the steel strap seems solid and is very pleasant to use.

Reliability:
I don't know if it comes from my lifestyle or the watch, but the winding of the latter seems light in automatic. At first, I thought that an automatic watch should wind itself and that I wouldn't have any problems. Although I work at a desk, I stay active and walk a little but obviously that's not enough. The watch therefore had a tendency to stop regularly.
To overcome this, I wind it every morning and also in the evening when I take it off.

Flaw:
If I had to find one, I would say the integrated bracelet. Not its aesthetics because the result is great, but simply the complexity of finding other bracelets outside of those FC. I suppose that it is a problem for all watches with an integrated bracelet.
