Favre Leuba Harpoon Owner Review : Symmetrical, casual and inventive

Harpoon 88, a 5 ATM water-resistant dive watch; nothing to write home about, then... But this is a watch I acquired at an auction, for which I didn't exactly compete fiercely, as few people were interested, which is a shame. The watch was brand new. It came with the original strap, which was a great surprise, as it wasn't polished, not a scratch—in short, almost a holy grail. The watch feels comfortable on the wrist, and while the date display initially put me off a little, it eventually became perfectly integrated. And when the half-hour chimes, I'm still a little disappointed not to see my very specific day/date. The dial is a metallic blue, and it's never the same color; it's quite intriguing to look at as soon as a ray of sunshine appears. The date is displayed quickly, simply by pressing the button, like on Seiko watches, but the feel is different. It's not my favorite watch in my collection, but it's a wonderful surprise in terms of quality, beauty, and history (Favre Leuba is, according to various legends, the oldest watch brand still in existence). A blend of sport and elegance.
