Harpoon 88, montre de plongée étanche à 5 ATM ; pas de quoi organiser un combat avec Poséidon donc.. Mais, il s'agit d'une montre que j'ai acquis lors d'une vente aux enchères, pour laquelle je ne me suis pas spécialement battu, peu de personne étaient intéressés, et pourtant c'est dommage. La montre était neuve. Bracelet d'origine livré avec, grande surprise donc, elle n'était pas polie, aucune rayure, en somme un graal presque.

La montre est agréable au poignet, et si la date me rebutait légèrement au début, elle s'installe finalement parfaitement, et lorsque la demi sonne, je reste insatisfait de ne pas voir mon jour date très spécifique. Le cadran est de couleur bleu, métallique, et n'est jamais de la même couleur, c'est très intrigant à regarder dès qu'un rayon de soleil pointe le bout de son nez. La date est en passage rapide, simplement en appuyant dessus, comme pour les seiko, mais la sensation y est différente.

Ce n'est pas ma montre préférée de ma collection, mais la montre est une excellente surprise, de qualité, de beauté, et d'histoire (Favre Leuba étant selon diverses légendes la marque horlogère la plus vieille encore debout).

It came with the original strap, which was a great surprise, as it wasn't polished, not a scratch—in short, almost a holy grail.

The watch feels comfortable on the wrist, and while the date display initially put me off a little, it eventually became perfectly integrated. And when the half-hour chimes, I'm still a little disappointed not to see my very specific day/date. The dial is a metallic blue, and it's never the same color; it's quite intriguing to look at as soon as a ray of sunshine appears. The date is displayed quickly, simply by pressing the button, like on Seiko watches, but the feel is different.

It's not my favorite watch in my collection, but it's a wonderful surprise in terms of quality, beauty, and history (Favre Leuba is, according to various legends, the oldest watch brand still in existence).
