Serica 4512 Owner Review : Atypical, relevant and inspired

To put the purchase of this Serica into context, I was looking for my first watch after suddenly discovering a love for watchmaking. In the early stages of our research, we make lots of discoveries, and often gravitate towards watches with more complications (I hesitated over a Seiko GMT). But the more we search, the less we find. And doubts gradually creep in before lingering. Finally, while reading an interview with the brand's founders on DM&V, I realized we had the same references (it's not very difficult to love the 60s and 70s at the same time); and I stumbled upon the 4512 by chance on a well-known resale site. And finally, in absolute simplicity, I found the watch that would truly introduce me to watchmaking, and what a pleasure it is. It's a watch made for everything. I've worn it in the mountains, on the beach, in the countryside, and in vegan restaurants in the 11th arrondissement; it blends in everywhere. The strap is comfortable to wear, and the mechanism doesn't require much experience; for me, it's a very good purchase for a first watch, and I'm satisfied with it.
