Seiko Prospex Owner Review : Aggressive, hypnotic and extravagant

Damn, another diver, and another SEIKO… To say that at first, I wasn’t a fan of divers… For my 4th SEIKO diver, I was (re)looking for a PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructor) version: ah, marketing… On the other hand, since I don’t like day-date complications or cyclops, it’s not easy to find one to my taste. So, when the new collection came out in the summer of 2023, with the SPB375J1 version without day-date or cyclops, I knew it was for me… In a sturdy 45 mm case, called Sumo, it doesn’t go unnoticed That’s really what I was looking for, a bodybuilder watch. If I had the means, I would have taken an OMEGA SEAMASTER ULTRA DEEP PLANET OCEAN waterproof to 6000 m, but at more than 14 k€, the SEIKO will do the trick! What makes all the charm of this SEIKO is still and always this dial, superb, which "simulates" the reflections of the surface of the water, and the gradient of blue, from the deep blue of the abyss to the sky blue of the surface lit by the sun ... My photos do not do justice, but it is to die for! For the mechanics, again this 6R35 which runs well, with good autonomy, but a precision that we would have liked better. The drift is of the order of 15 s delay per day, within the tolerances of the brand. There you have it, it is my WTF watch, the biggest, which does not go unnoticed!
