TAG Heuer Carrera 160 Years Anniversary Owner Review : Beautiful, unique and perfect

Announced in late 2019 in anticipation of the brand's 160th anniversary (founded in 1860), this Carrera model revisits the design of a silver 1964 model, updated with the (then) new Heuer 02 in-house movement... From the moment I saw it, I was captivated: one day it will be mine, oh yes, one day it will be mine... So, I quickly contacted a salesperson at the Champs-Élysées boutique to find out how to get one. The reply: it wouldn't be released until June or July 2020, and we would only have a few units in the boutique, as the model was limited to 1,860 pieces worldwide... A place on the waiting list, a Covid pandemic, and a few lockdowns later, we arrived at the end of June for a fitting in the boutique. My first impression was mixed; the artificial light in the boutique didn't do justice to the sunburst silver dial. No matter, I remain convinced it's made for me, I insist, and thus become the second French buyer to acquire this exquisite model. And I'm so glad I did: the sunburst gray dial is stunning, the movement is incredibly precise, beautifully decorated, and impeccably finished. In short, I can't find a single fault with it. Even the calfskin strap with a crocodile-effect finish and HEUER-branded folding clasp pleases me. For me, a chronograph is a TAG HEUER, and it's a Carrera! I appreciate the Speedmasters, the Daytonas, the Monacos, the El Primeros, etc. But the one I like the most is this Carrera! So if I could only keep one...
