Une réception récente et, contrairement à mon habitude, une présentation quasi dans la foulée car il s'agit ici d'une évidence. Inutile de s'embarrasser avec les traditionnels aspects techniques, les dimensions, la réserve de marche, etc... tout cela est anecdotique avec cette création qui ne possède pas vraiment de cadran, assurément pas d'aiguille et une ergonomie qui peut sembler discutable. Ici on a besoin de changer de registre lexical.

Passé la cinquantaine je me sentais mûr pour une montre radicalement différente, un objet donnant l'heure mais pour lequel cette notion serait accessoire, presque superflue. J'avais déjà repéré SpaceOne pour ses premières créations et son univers artistique tourné vers l'espace. Dès notre première rencontre, lors du Timefest 2025, la Worldtimer m'a pris dans son champ de force pour ne plus me laisser m'échapper. Une vaisseau futuriste qui me raccrochait à mes évasions galactiques de gamin des 80's, quelque part où le Capitaine Flam viendrait en aide aux Jedi de Star Wars.

Cette montre est une œuvre d'art, quasiment un manifeste pour une façon de voir le monde différemment. C'est une bouffé d'oxygène qui met le sourire aux lèvres de tout le monde. Aussitôt repérée, elle fait faire le premier pas aux plus timides qui viennent s'enquérir de la nature de l'objet. Tout le monde se fiche de savoir comment on lit l'heure ou comment elle fonctionne. Ce qui retient l'attention c'est le design et le côté bijou, elle suscite l’intérêt  chez chacun.

Quelques mots tout de même pour souligner la complexité de l'objet, du boitier exclusif en titane à la fois poli, brossé et micro-billé, ciselé et fuselé suivant le dessin d'Olivier Gamette, aux trois dômes saphir en passant par la complication worldtimer à disques développée en interne par Théo Auffret sur une base Soprod.

Il restait une inconnue: le confort et la portabilité. Les doutes furent levés au bout d'une heure passé à mon poignet.

Une machine à rêver qui a vite trouver son espace. Mieux, elle a ouvert une brèche sur un nouvel horizon horloger.

Having passed fifty, I felt ready for a radically different watch, an object that tells the time, but for which this notion would be secondary, almost superfluous. I had already noticed SpaceOne for its early creations and its artistic universe focused on space. From our first encounter at Timefest 2025, the Worldtimer captivated me and wouldn't let me go. A futuristic spaceship that reconnected me to my childhood galactic fantasies of the 80s, somewhere where Captain Future would come to the aid of the Jedi from Star Wars.

This watch is a work of art, practically a manifesto for a different way of seeing the world. It's a breath of fresh air that puts a smile on everyone's face. As soon as it's spotted, it encourages even the shyest to take the first step and inquire about its nature. No one cares how to tell the time or how it works. What captures attention is the design and the jewelry-like quality; it sparks everyone's interest.

A few words are in order to highlight the complexity of this timepiece, from the exclusive titanium case—polished, brushed, and micro-blasted, chiseled and tapered according to Olivier Gamette's design—to the three sapphire crystal domes and the worldtimer complication with discs, developed in-house by Théo Auffret based on a Soprod movement.

One question remained: comfort and wearability. Those doubts were dispelled after an hour on my wrist.

A dream machine that quickly found its place. Better yet, it opened a new horizon in watchmaking.
