Rolex Datejust 36 Owner Review : Versatile, simple and tremendous

A watch seen and reviewed... or not! The Datejust is a great classic of the brand with the crown, a timeless piece. Open your eyes in the street and you will see loads of them. Too many perhaps? It is quite possible however, it is only a reflection of the efficiency of this model. Almost sporty, almost dress watch... so excellent nowhere? In reality it is quite the opposite! The Oyster bracelet and the smooth bezel bring THE sporty touch to this very elegant diameter (36mm). This timepiece goes just as well with a suit as with the very (too?) fashionable t-shirt-jeans-sneakers and this, without entering into the "disruptive" concepts dear to the Marketing departments of our beloved manufacturers. (cf: the communication around the submariner in the 70s where the latter is worn under the sleeve of a tuxedo). At the office? It is discreet. At the beach? No worries, it does very well underwater (10 bar). And otherwise, shall we talk about this date roulette? Even days in black, odd days in red... Rolex fun at its peak! Joking aside, this little twist is superbly effective and radically changes your perception of the watch from one day to the next. A classic DJ on the 2nd of the month and the next day you almost feel like you're wearing a Turn-O-Graph (ref: 116264). This is a trifle, a detail that some people will find of little interest but which means that, 12 years later, I am still as in love with my watch. I am not a Rolex fan, far from it. I like other manufacturers much more, most of them less renowned, less prestigious, more accessible, ... I have other pretty watches, with more "character" and yet, if I had to wear only one until the end of my days, it would without hesitation be this Datejust 36 date roulette which does everything wonderfully well.
