In my manufacture collection, I wanted to get away from black. That's how I chose the Club Sport Neomatik Polar. It's my first blue watch that nods to the datejust. This German watch is 37mm in terms of dial and has an Oyster-type bracelet and a sunray dial. In the sun, you can see all the shades of blue. It's thin and light. I find it more dressy than sporty. The luminescence is blue like the datejust. It's a watch that fits well into my collection. It's refined and attractive. We have here a 95% original manufacture movement from Glashütte. The only downside is its clasp that quickly shows scratches. But for its price I'm not going to complain. I highly recommend it for those who want to start in watchmaking.

German quality

The DateJust is, in my opinion, the jewel of my manufacture collection. It sits among my other watches. It fell from the sky. One day, I received a call from my brother who had accompanied his friend to the airport. It was the beginning of the Ukraine/Russia War. He had lost a lot of money on cryptocurrencies. And to bail himself out, he wanted to sell his Datejust 2021 and a Seamaster straight from Korea. He offered them to me and the decision was quick (5 minutes flat). On a whim, I decided to take the Rolex without thinking too much. And, I must tell you that I do not regret it. Its configuration is complete: fluted bezel and Jubilee bracelet. As for the case, it is the historic 36mm size. I love the comfort this watch provides. I think it is the watch of my life.

The Jewel in the Crown

The Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch is the iconic watch full of history. I was told that it had gone to the moon. I really like their new bracelet that is thinner all the way to the clasp. I chose the sapphire case back so I could admire the movement. I find it hypnotic. I also really enjoy winding it up every morning before leaving for the office. I use the stopwatch complication a lot, which allows me to calculate the time lost in Parisian traffic jams. When I work in front of my computer, it is a treat to look at my wrist. In terms of chronometry, I find it very precise, better than Rolex or Tudor. I think it is a watch that I could pass on to my son later.

The Hamilton Jazzmaster is my first experience in mechanical watchmaking. During the first wave of Covid confinement, I had time to browse the internet and find my first automatic watch. I had hesitated for a long time between 3 brands: Tissot, Seiko and Hamilton. And my choice fell on the Hamilton with its Open Heart which reveals its mechanism. In the light, we see all its brilliance. I was amazed by its 80 hours of power reserve which lets me rest my wrist from time to time. Concerning the horns and the case, we have more brushed and a little polished. In several years of use, we see very few scratches. I like to wear it in all situations (at work, in the evening, etc ...). It is robust and elegant.

My first automatic watch

This beautiful Rolex is an inheritance from my father who is no longer of this world, he leaves me as a prize a magnificent Rolex which I think is timeless. These indexes in Roman numerals painted in black are beautiful, the tritium has yellowed in the most beautiful way. These black hands stand out well from the white dial which has not changed color through the plexiglass. I love its fluted bezel, its jubilee bracelet and its small case (36 mm in diameter) an excellent caliber 3035 with a quick date window under its cyclops.

First watch purchased at a Rolex boutique (Place Vendôme), after only a one-month wait (in 2025). The salesperson certainly heard and appreciated my shared passion for watches, prompting that famous "call" unexpectedly and very quickly.

I owned the 41mm DateJust II with a fluted bezel, but I deemed it too big for my 17cm wrist; it no longer fit the image of a classic, dressy watch that I attribute to this model.

So, during a visit to their store to have a fixed link removed from my Explo II, I took the opportunity to try on the 36mm DJ. Naturally, I put myself on my wish list, without the fluted bezel, on the advice of the salesperson, who told me that this very/too popular version would be very long.

This watch is now in my collection, and I find it simply perfect. I won't rewrite the article here about this timepiece, owned by a significant number of Dialicious readers; the photos speak for themselves.

I love this configuration with the silver dial, the smooth bezel, and the Jubilee bracelet; the only bracelet I was missing to complete the iterations offered by the brand with the crown (after the brushed Oyster of my Explo II and the polished-brushed Oyster of my Yacht Master).

The only negative aspect is the brand's price increases, which, today, in 2025, make it a very expensive model for a three-hand watch with a date (€8,000). It's still steel, even if it's 904.

I wear it during the week, at the office, with a suit. It will be passed down to one of my children; we often think of passing it on with this kind of timeless model.



The classic spirit of Rolex

Today I just bought this watch. I went to my AD to see if the Explorer 2 Polar for which I am on the waiting list would, by chance, have arrived. The watch still not being there, I asked the question to know which Rolex would be available immediately. I specified that I only wanted 41mm and especially not two-tone. The saleswoman tricked me by presenting me this model in 36mm and two-tone (the two conditions that I absolutely did not want) knowing that the effect of this model would not leave me indifferent. Bet won, I went home with this watch, which is the smallest in my collection, without thinking more than 5 minutes. I do not regret anything, on the contrary I am completely hypnotized by this palm dial

Love at first sight

I present to you one of the models I have always dreamed of. Very versatile, as chic on leather as sporty on its jubilee. It is a 1987 full stock model, in 10/10 condition. Very happy to have come across this gem, after hesitating for years to take the plunge. It is still waterproof to the same bars as at the time and varies between -4/+4sc per day. The model I always dreamed of

I really enjoy giving my opinion on this great watch (the tone is set).
Initially, I had registered on a wish list at an AD Rolex, only Rolex. By forcing a little and making a few regular phone calls to show my interest, it took me less than a year to get the famous call.
In the end, I am not disappointed. The size is perfect if like me, you have a small wrist.
We can criticize it or on the contrary love it, the Wimbledon dial is incredible and very bright.
Finally, the simplicity of the oyster bracelet and the smooth bezel allow for a more discreet and less identifiable look.
