Après la sobriété de la Heritage Black, je me suis tourné vers l'Eska Light Racing Sunset. Ce qui m’a séduit dans ce chronographe, c’est le mélange entre l’esprit "racing" et des codes plus classiques, portés par une typographie Breguet très réussie ; détail qui donne à la montre une allure intemporelle.

Esthétiquement, le cadran saumon de la " Sunset " apporte au modèle une fraîcheur et un style bien affirmé. Le contraste avec les aiguilles bleues, la typo blanche liserée de bleu est super lisible. Accompagné d'un strap bleu, l'association est élégante. 

Au quotidien, je la monte sur un ladder band acier, cela lui offre un rendu néo vintage que j'affectionne. Le dos de la montre n'est pas en reste et arbore la skyline de Lyon, gravée sur son fond.

Côté mécanique, elle est animée par un mouvement automatique Peacock. Pour être honnête, le défaut du mouvement est son balancier, très "présent", mais pour le prix d’un méca-quartz, on dispose ici d’une vraie mécanique... le compromis reste très bon.

Mon bémol principal : l’épaisseur générale du boîtier. Avec une chemise ajustée, le manque de finesse devient vite gênant au poignet. Elle souffre d'autant de différence que l'Heritage dont elle est la petite soeur est parfaite sur ce point. 

Au final, cette Light Racing est une pièce intéressante. Elle propose un design soigné, un cadran aux détail très réussis et un placement tarifaire cohérent. Le reste est histoire de compromis.

Aesthetically, the salmon-colored dial of the Sunset lends the model a fresh and assertive style. The contrast with the blue hands and the white typography outlined in blue is exceptionally legible. Paired with a blue strap, the combination is elegant. For everyday wear, I wear it on a steel ladder band, which gives it a neo-vintage look that I love.

The case back is equally striking, featuring the Lyon skyline engraved on its dial.

Mechanically, it's powered by a Peacock automatic movement. To be honest, the movement's only real flaw is its balance wheel, which is quite prominent, but for the price of a meca-quartz, you get a true mechanical movement here... the compromise is still very good.

My main reservation: the overall thickness of the case. With a fitted shirt cuff, the lack of slimness quickly becomes bothersome on the wrist. It suffers from this difference all the more because the Heritage, its little sister, is perfect in this respect.

Ultimately, this Light Racing is an interesting timepiece. It offers a refined design, a dial with very well-executed details, and a coherent price point. The rest is a matter of compromise.
