Eska Racing Owner Review : Casual, consistent and timeless

After the understated elegance of the Heritage Black, I turned to the Eska Light Racing Sunset. What captivated me about this chronograph is the blend of a racing spirit and more classic design elements, enhanced by a beautifully executed Breguet typography; a detail that gives the watch a timeless appeal. Aesthetically, the salmon-colored dial of the Sunset lends the model a fresh and assertive style. The contrast with the blue hands and the white typography outlined in blue is exceptionally legible. Paired with a blue strap, the combination is elegant. For everyday wear, I wear it on a steel ladder band, which gives it a neo-vintage look that I love. The case back is equally striking, featuring the Lyon skyline engraved on its dial. Mechanically, it's powered by a Peacock automatic movement. To be honest, the movement's only real flaw is its balance wheel, which is quite prominent, but for the price of a meca-quartz, you get a true mechanical movement here... the compromise is still very good. My main reservation: the overall thickness of the case. With a fitted shirt cuff, the lack of slimness quickly becomes bothersome on the wrist. It suffers from this difference all the more because the Heritage, its little sister, is perfect in this respect. Ultimately, this Light Racing is an interesting timepiece. It offers a refined design, a dial with very well-executed details, and a coherent price point. The rest is a matter of compromise.
