The must-have Macro Loupe for all watch lovers

I had been dreaming of a Yema Superman for a long time, but I didn't know which one to choose. This proposal made my mind up. Tropical dial, CMM 10 by Olivier Mory, bezel with gray color effects depending on the light, 99 copies. I didn't hesitate for long despite a certain price, but it's a reasonable price for such a beautiful manufacture movement. The FKM bracelet is super comfortable. And the little detail that made me swoon, the spade second hand. Another small hidden detail that's very classy: the number of the watch, mine 5/99, I'm surprised there are still some left. In terms of precision, my watch is at three seconds per day, it's perfect. I'm sure it's a future collector's item.

I dreamed about it without knowing it

After a year and a half of waiting, my Khuraburi Titanium has finally arrived. A way to deserve this watch from the very little distributed American brand. And I am not disappointed, it seems indestructible, its readability is excellent with its white dial, its blue Lum is impressive, its finishes remarkable. Even if it is a little thick, it is very pleasant to wear thanks to the lightness of the titanium. Its positive drift is five seconds daily with the NH 38 from Seiko, the sapphire crystal is very slightly domed. A very interesting quality / price ratio despite the delivery times, but it's worth it!

A rare and robust watch

This Baltic Aquascaphe Titanium is truly a beautiful watch. Its design and proportions are ideal, allowing it to adopt all styles. It is very comfortable thanks to its contained weight, thank you titanium. Titanium which gives a matte patina making it very elegant in addition to sporty. Its readability is excellent whatever the conditions. The Miyota 9039 works perfectly well. The sapphire crystal is very effective. The only downside is a slight play of the bezel.

An "almost" perfect watch!

This Wolbrook skindiver is a very nice reissue. Its size, its perceived quality, its readability, its sapphire crystal make it a superb everyday watch, to do everything, without worrying about anything. Its Miyota movement with 60 hours of power reserve is very well regulated. For its price, there is no need to hesitate for a second!

Very nice watch! Super comfortable to wear, exceptional finish, feeling of solidity from the first glance, ... everything is there! The full black dial is superb with a slight impression of smoked glass, it is ultimately very luminous. The screw-down crown seems indestructible and waterproof. Unbeatable quality / price ratio. It is the watch that does everything par excellence.

I bought this yema superman which is no longer produced for its maxi dial I love everything in this watch its case its dial its movement and the revival of the legendary superman maxi dial from the 80s it still accompanies me in the coves of carry le rouet '' or elsewhere superb watch

Legendary

I always wanted a Yema superman, when I learned that they were going to release it with a "manufacture" movement, it told me biennial launch was on Kickstarter but as I prefer human contact I went to my AD in Lyon to order it.
Ordered mid-February and received at the end of September, a little long but hey.
Once the box was opened (the case is great but hey, it's just a box), I found it magnificent (it's true that photos are always a little misleading).
The only small flaw is perhaps the bracelet which is a little rigid.

The long awaited Superman CMM10...

I present to you my YEMA Superman blue lagoon in Quartz version (vast subject ...) it is a very pretty watch but not very loved by lovers of the Yema brand? ... Yet I am one of the people who love Yema and I would never part with this watch ... it is too far from the codes of the iconic superman version of the French brand (I have two other Superman a gmt and a bronze green) ... the blue lagoon has first of all a diameter of 40 mm and its shape and its case is completely different from a classic superman ... But I personally like this watch a lot, it was delivered to me at the time with a steel bracelet but I prefer it on a blue or black Tropic type bracelet and I alternate. Its diameter is 40mm Waterproof 300m Case thickness 13mm mineral glass Price 300 euros.



But Yema Lagoon Blue Superman…

You will probably throw stones and anvils at me but yes I do use this magnificent vintage to go diving, not with tanks since I have the misfortune of having asthma but in freediving often on leather straps, in short everything you should not do when you listen to all these people on youtube who tell you what to do without ever having dived themselves. Obviously, I do my waterproofness tests and services so that everything goes as well as possible but to date no problem and if there was a problem, finding parts is not a problem on this kind of watch.

This 241117 from 1973 is older than me and it is my ultimate grail. I only wear it since I got my hands on it last year when I already had 3 other yema superman 241117 and a 530016... In short, you get the idea, I'm a bit of a vintage yema superman nutcase. The only time I don't wear this 241117 is when I use the impact drill or a hammer (and that's just because I'm left-handed).

Being a big fan of the 241117 for several years, my holy grail was to find a yema superman air force, not a reissue but the real vintage one, in short, the thing that is absolutely impossible to find. To my knowledge, there had never been one on public sale, so I wrote a computer program that ran to make sure that if one day there was one somewhere I would be the first on the neck. Very frankly I thought that this impossible quest would last 20 years but by extreme luck I had a touch in only 2 years.

Since then I have developed a serious OCD that makes me go every day to see if yema are on sale even if I absolutely no longer buy anything because for each purchase I ask myself: what is better than my 241117? And nothing, so I no longer buy anything, it is ultimately very good for the wallet.

When I saw this superman, I realized the gap between wanting to acquire a grail and the acquisition process. Given the excitement that should not be made to appear to the seller, it was necessary to trace and prove its authenticity. The seller said he had taken possession of this watch during an inheritance but some details made me doubt, in short it was necessary to appraise this superman in person to understand the ins and outs. After making sure that I could charge back to my credit card in case of a scam, I buy it.

When I receive it, the first reflex is to examine the watch from all angles, everything is clean from the point of view of the parts, the glass has lived and the bezel lock is missing but these two elements are easy to find, obviously it is not a frankenwatch but remains to see the mechanics. The back has many traces of failed opening, clearly someone tried to open it and broke their teeth. Indeed opening the case was not easy, I quickly understand how so many traces are visible, I spend several hours on it but the back does not move an inch, only solution that works, glue a nut on the back of the case and go for it, and tada the movement finally appears: an eta 2452 which fits with its age since yema will move on to france ebauche in the following years. The bottom of the box bears a watchmaker's inscription dating from 1976, in short, incredible, everything matches its year of commissioning and I am very happy with this incredible find. A little message in a bottle, if anyone has one of these magnificent original Superman watches, I would be curious to be able to talk to them about the watchmakers who performed the services on these watches since, to my knowledge, there is no register on which we can go and see this kind of detail.

Superman 241117 Air Force

A French diver at 990 Feet!? Well according to my calculations in French it's about 300 meters, it's really appreciable for this Superman 530016 from the 70's-80's.
I love this diver, its 39mm diameter, its 12mm thickness, its domed acrylic glass, these hands and especially the finesse of the second hand and of course its emblematic bezel block.
I find it both sporty and elegant!
A real all-purpose diver.

This Yema Superman represents my first true horological thrill. Of course, before it, there was this Casio brought back from Thailand by my uncle, which seemed so exotic compared to what was available in France some forty years earlier. But my first true horological desire, the one that left its mark on my imagination, was born when I saw this Yema Superman on my father's wrist in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

It embodied everything I would later love about watchmaking: tool watches, especially diving watches, both sporty and elegant, robust yet subtle, exuding a masculine charm and a certain rarity.

One day, while rummaging in a drawer, I came across it. There, stopped for nearly thirty years, it seemed frozen in time. A single thought obsessed me: to get it running again. And after a simple battery change and a water-resistance check, miracle! It started running again as if it had stopped the day before. It's been a few days now, and it's proving very accurate. The Shiojiri V342A movement seems quite high-quality.

Admittedly, time has taken its toll: slight oxidation on the hands, a third of the Mercedes hand has vanished... But the dial itself remains intact. Only one detail betrays its age: no trace of Super-Luminova. No matter how long it's exposed to sunlight, at night, it's pitch black.

Despite this, or because of it, this watch is magnificent! Its 19 mm lug width, its traditional external strap attachments, its slim and elegant 39 mm case, and its deep black dial with large indexes (big dial) – one of two designs available at the time – make this Superman II, from the Seiko era at Yema (model Y90056), a true icon. It also became the first vintage watch in my collection.

I fitted it with a black tropic strap, and this combination seems absolutely perfect to me. There are two versions of this watch: a quartz and an automatic. Obviously, I would have preferred to find an automatic in this drawer. But, truth be told, it doesn't matter. The emotion it gives me far surpasses this technical detail. This small timepiece, difficult to find in such pristine condition, I wear it as proudly as a Rolex.

A diver's watch for a guy who doesn't dive is a great classic, but a diver's watch for diving in this deep black dial is essential. I love this watch! And I love these big indexes that click day and night. I was so frustrated by my previous purchase (my Sternglas which is not luminescent, me who loves sleeping with my watch), that I went all out! My first Yema, there will be others!

Limited edition for Air Force divers, say the splashes. Robust watch, with beautiful finishes, spade second hand, the inscription 'Air Force' worn in red on the dial, steel bezel, well-made steel bracelet, all this gives it an air of adventurer that I love. My daily for several months now.

I have this magnificent Yema Superman that has been with me every day for about 3 years. It is a watch as robust as its look suggests.

I was looking for a watch that would have a design similar to the Rolex Explorer with a steel bezel and I found that this model was close to it. I like its diver and adventurous side

A Superman who can stand up to anything.

Beautiful watch acquired a few months ago for my engagement. I was looking for a fine diving watch with a refined design and a manufacture movement and I was surprised to come across this model.
Yema has developed a new version of the Superman with a sober dial (blue or black) and equipped with a micro rotor caliber.

For a long time I said that I didn't understand the craze around vintage watches and that it would end up confining creation to the redesign of historical models. I understood even less the "hype" concerning patinas and other wear and tear that we began to consider as treasures. And then I came across this Superman, certainly one of the first series, and its incredible dial that hypnotized me. I felt like I was in the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon and going into hyperspace. The Bakelite bezel finished making me capsize and this graceful granny became the first of a beautiful series. Passed through the expert hands of a watchmaker from the Saint-Ouen Flea Market, I wear it regularly without problem. With its diameter and its ultimately very modern design, it has nothing to be ashamed of compared to reissues.

My first vintage

The one where it all started! February 2021, wedding anniversary, I've been seriously interested in watches for a few months now and Yema is releasing a superman air force in a limited series of 1948 copies (the year Yema was created). As a former Air Force member, I jumped at the chance and chose the number for the date of our wedding. I discovered the pleasure of wearing an automatic. French in addition, even the movement since Yema 2000. Like its sister GMT, the only criticisms are the date poorly placed under the angle of the glass, the 19mm lug width is really not cool and the metal bracelet is not the most comfortable. Since then, with a blue, white and red nato that never leaves it, it is often my summer watch for the moment.

My first automatic

The YEMA Superman Maxi Dial Heritage (not called Superman 2). The watch of my 40th birthday, when I was looking for a watch that wasn't precious, capable of taking a bit of everything, a tool, in other words. This watch seems unloved in the old YEMA heritage range. Personally, I find it one of the most successful Superman watches in what it takes from the past & treats it in "today's modernity". A big strong point in my opinion is the almost uninterrupted set "sapphire bezel / flat sapphire crystal". The result is a very interesting large & shiny surface. Very good readability, no problem with the "in-house" MBP1000 movement, Ø40, a watch that goes everywhere & is very distinctive, it's not a sublike or a skxlike. The only modern & successful YEMA diver in my eyes. Only one flaw, which can be remedied, the typo of the date disc, a "Times" residue from another time of the Ambre group. Otherwise, the satin/sunburst black background brings the right amount of sophistication to this great black & white classic. Very good & long-lasting brightness of the dial & bezel indexes. A favorite in the watch box.

The unloved one

This Yema allowed me to add a "little French girl" to my collection, yes! a bit of chauvinism. We no longer present the Superman, its legendary bezel lock (I'm not a diver, but not sure that it's very practical...). This limited series launched on Kickstarter offered the possibility of buying it at a "reasonable" price, moreover, it combines many assets: new Yema 3000 movement, water-resistant to 300m, GMT complication, date. In short, the ultimate travel tool watch with the added charm of bronze and its unique patina. I chose the 39mm model (you could buy it in 41) and I don't regret it for 2 reasons: Identical to the original Superman and it fits all wrists, including mine (17cm).

What I wanted this watch for!!! pfffiou I waited for it and for 1000€ it was too expensive, and I wanted the ETA. So I bought it on Chrono 24 for 700€. DISAPPOINTMENT on the lume!! Ouch ouch ouch but apparently the hands were a problem on the first series so I sent it back to Yema for a hand change (free) and revision + 300m water resistance (200€) and I wore it. It's been a year and a half now and honestly I don't wear it that much anymore. Yet it has many advantages: its 39 mm size fits really well, it is comfortable and the steel bracelet is thin! But it seems fragile to me. Already the aluminum insert seems more fragile to me than Seiko. And when I go back up the climb it rattles... so maybe it's a death zone thing... and this problem already existed and at the service they must not have noticed it.
In short, a beautiful watch that I wanted, that I wear from time to time but that I will take for diving
