The must-have Macro Loupe for all watch lovers

In my quest for the ultimate watch, one that would tick all my boxes, I set out to buy this beautiful GS. I'd never spent such a fortune on a watch before. I was speechless at the exquisite workmanship, whether on the case, the indexes, the hands, or the caseback...

A year later, I still take it off my wrist to play with the light. Its dial changes from deep black to a slightly sunburst blue; it's almost frustrating that it isn't a little more so.

Insanely legible day and night, with very powerful and high-quality Lum on the hands (including the GMT) and the cardinal points.

When worn, it remains present, which is what I like. With its 20 ATM resistance, the minimum for me, its thickness remains reasonable, and the feel on the wrist is, as always, well-designed with GS.

What was supposed to become my everyday watch has finally taken the place of the watch I wear when I'm not working. Indeed, my job as a sound technician requires me to handle a lot of equipment, and... at the first knock on the bezel, I rethought my decision, telling myself that it wasn't ultimately reasonable to unnecessarily expose this beautiful watch with such fine finishes to handling that might shock or scratch it a little too often for my liking...

I also remain impressed by this in-house caliber (9S66), which is incredibly precise. I'm on average within +1 second/day regardless of the outside temperature, my activity, whether I'm wearing it or not...

An excellent compromise between the tool and the finishes +++

This watch is truly "cute"... Details and finishes are spot on...

This is the first watch I can share with my wife, who has a much smaller wrist than mine (17.5 / 15.5).
We both fell in love with this piece for its details, its finishes, and its unique single-pusher clasp, which gives it incredible charm.

I'm leaving a review without much perspective because we won't be using this watch every day; we'll only wear it occasionally, like on weekends or other moments of relaxation.

I never tire of taking photos of it and watching it play with the sunlight...
I see no flaws in it for the use we put it to.

The very first creation from the Radial brand, this watch was born after a Kickstarter I participated in because I liked the project: an aviator-style tool, water-resistant to 20 ATM, with a Sellita movement, and all at a reasonable price!

Received about two weeks ago, this watch is intended to be shared with my wife (my second wife!!). With its 39 mm diameter, its thin 11.7 mm thickness, and above all, a lug-to-lug width of only 46 mm, it fits my wife perfectly on a 15 cm wrist ;)

It fulfills its role as a tool, almost too light for me, as I'm used to feeling my watches, but ideal for my wife.

The lum applied to the hour/minute hands and the index at 12 o'clock is very effective; it's the watch that shines the brightest in my small collection!

The strap is the same green as the dial, so it's in good taste ;)

I noticed an average drift of +13 seconds/day on my model.

The negative point for me, if there is one, is that it doesn't evoke any emotion. This is very subjective. I have no complaints about it, but when I wear it, it doesn't evoke anything for me. Maybe I'm unintentionally comparing it to my usual daily tool, my Sinn 856... It's not very fair on paper, but that's how it is.
My wife, on the other hand, loves it. We tried it on her steel one but immediately put the rubber one back on, which shows it off much more on this iteration.

Another negative point is that the screw-down crown is difficult to screw back in, especially after setting the time, for example.

For a little less than two years, I've been searching for THE watch that would best accompany me in my daily life. As a sound technician, I need it to be break-resistant, scratch-resistant, and have excellent readability, day and night. I needed a date display and precision... This 856 ticks all these boxes and more...
I also had the goal of trying to collect a single watch, and if I had to keep only one, it would undoubtedly be this Sinn!!

My best everyday tool watch

This watch simply wasn't on my agenda. As an Apple Watch wearer, having abandoned mechanical watches for several years due to repeated issues with unfortunate breakages, this watch caught my eye while visiting a friend's shop, and I had no choice but to take it home! It was a new starting point for a passion that had never really left me...

Excellent value for money when it first came out, and the deep blue of the dial delighted me for a while. Today, I no longer wear it because I've discovered models with superior finishes.

In any case, I have no regrets; this watch allowed me to restart on a budget with a model that's versatile enough to withstand my daily wear. Some people won't like its unidirectional self-winding Miyota caliber which lets the oscillating weight spin in the air like a top, for me it's the opposite, it's the only thing I miss with my higher quality watches today, I've always liked to feel the mechanical life on my wrist (I started with a Valjoux 7750 as a teenager...)

The watch that re-opened me to watchmaking!!

As a lover of tools and the Valjoux 7750 caliber, and a fan of the OW brand and its philosophy, I quickly gravitated toward this beautiful Astrochron. It's worth noting that the brand guarantees Origin +90% Swiss Made, a very important detail in terms of value for money, when some barely exceed the mandatory 60% by cheating here and there...

So I'm a fan of this caliber, certainly very common, but which has survived the decades without major issues. The unidirectional winding gives it a crazy charm, in my opinion, when the oscillating weight goes crazy, reminding us unpredictably throughout the day of the presence of this timepiece on your wrist. Some hate it, but I love it!

Here we have a variation of the Valjoux 7750 with this 7753 version, which differs in the arrangement of the sub-dials, and which incorporates a discreet pusher at 10 o'clock to quickly "jump" the date to the months in 30 days, for example, without having to unscrew the crown, and that's great.

Despite all its intrinsic qualities, I'm quite disappointed with the brand. While this watch is a real tank ready to face anything, the ceramic bezel has cracked twice, and this was without any damage on my part. I own a C-1000 (also OW) which is currently in service for the same reason...

Upon inquiries, the brand has apparently changed bezel suppliers to address the problem. However, I've lost confidence in my OW watches for my daily life as a technician who needs a durable tool without question.

I switched to another reputable tool brand, and today I wear a Sinn 856 UTC, which perfectly fulfills the role of an everyday toolwatch, allowing you to do everything without worrying about this kind of problem.

I'm also disappointed by the Super Luminova, especially on the hands, which fades far too quickly to be readable all night. While yes, the lum is very attractive with its presence on the bezel for the first 20 minutes, it's important to note that night vision is necessary in certain professions, like mine, as a sound technician in live performance.
