Traska is an American watch brand founded in 2018 in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, by Jon Mack. It focuses on everyday, robust, and understated sports watches, available through direct sales and small batches.
Born as an independent micro-industry, Traska caters to lovers of reliable tools rather than collectors of fine watchmaking. The company is based in Jacksonville Beach and has been operating as TRASKA LLC since 2018.
The design draws on vintage utilitarian codes (field, diver, sport-chic) with contained proportions and highly legible dials. This guiding principle runs throughout the range, designed to "survive anything" in real-life use.
The collection includes the Traska Freediver (diver), the Summiteer (field), the Traska Commuter (sport-chic all-rounder), the Traska Venturer GMT (travel) and the Traska Seafarer (diver with an internal super-compressor bezel). The Venturer features a "real" traveler's GMT thanks to the Miyota 9075 caliber with independent local time.
The cases and bracelets are made of 316L stainless steel treated to reach 1200 HV on the Vickers scale, to better resist scratches, with sapphire crystals and water resistance adapted to use. The Miyota movements of the 9 series (9039, 9015) and 9075 for the GMT are systematically adjusted in four positions by the brand.
Traska's signature is its surface hardening (announced at 1200 HV) applied to the case and bracelet, complemented by articulated steel bracelets and neat clasps, for increased resistance to scratches in daily use.
The brand sells directly, often through short "Reservation Windows" with a deposit, and then ships express (FedEx) worldwide. The international warranty is three years, managed without a paper card via the order number.
The price positioning remains contained: Traska Commuter around 600–660 USD depending on the size, Traska Summiteer ~670 USD, Traska Venturer GMT ~750 USD, with homogeneous specifications (sapphire, hardened steel) across the range.
The specialist press and the enthusiast community highlight a coherent and evolving whole (regular iterations, multiple sizes), with particular attention paid to the value of use and the regulation of movements. Launches sell out quickly and are restocked in waves.
Traska embodies a clear proposition from an American micro-brand: understated, well-adjusted, and practical sports watches, designed to last and remain easy to wear every day, without any pretensions of craftsmanship.
