The must-have Macro Loupe for all watch lovers

That's it, my goal has finally been achieved.

Cartier is THE brand for shaped watches, with iconic designs such as the Tank, the Ballon Bleu, the Panthère, the Santos... Finally, I turned to the Ronde Must, a rather underrated model (less popular than the Ronde Solo at the time, and even less so among the other models).

On the one hand, you might think it's the least "Cartier" model, because it's a very classic and ordinary watch given the brand's identity. On the other hand, it seems to me to be one of the models that stands out the most. It's a very ordinary watch in the watchmaking world, but different in the Cartier world. When you think "Cartier," it's not the model that comes to mind. I find it both ordinary and extraordinary.

The detail I love is the pattern across the entire outer part of the dial; Something not found in all of the brand's models, which gives it its identity. The steel bracelet gives it a more "daily" feel, but could be a weak point because the clasp isn't very practical (although it's aesthetically pleasing), and I can't seem to find the perfect fit (no micro-adjustment).

For your information, my wrist is 16.5 cm.

A Cartier all in roundness

I was eagerly awaiting a smaller version of the Tsuyosa 40mm because I found it a bit too large for me. This 37mm version is perfectly proportioned, and the fact that it's a bit thicker than the 40mm version still gives it a good wrist presence, which fits nicely into the "sporty chic" category.

The crown is also slightly more prominent than on the 40mm version, which is a significant improvement because I like to be able to operate the crowns properly, changing watches almost every day.

The clasp is cheap, and I would have preferred a solid caseback because the movement is really ugly, but it's true that this watch is very difficult to compete with for its price. A simple, effective, and affordable watch.

Un must-have

After this unconvincing pun, I would like to say that this beaubleu is a real gem. A gem first in the literal sense because given its design, it is a watch but also (or even above all) a jewel, a very beautiful piece that comes to dress up an outfit. But also a jewel in the figurative sense because this watch is very well finished. 

The dial is obviously its strong point. Green is my favorite color, and it is difficult to find complete satisfaction in watches. Here, the dark green/fir/bottle dial marries wonderfully well with the textured beige/cream outline (grained?) and the light green second hand, a little sage. The case back is also very beautiful, the work on the oscillating weight is superb. 

Needless to mention the round hands which are the signature of the brand; the internal bezel which acts as a 2nd time zone "GMT" is interesting. First for the functionality, but especially because it reinforces the readability of the time. Beaubleu watches require some time to get used to in order to quickly read the time, and the Arabic numerals on the internal bezel make them easier to read. 

The 2 crowns are very well integrated into the case, but this means that handling is less natural. Too bad, because I love winding my watches with the crown firmly between my fingers. I also regret the presence of a butterfly clasp that I don't find very comfortable; I would have preferred a folding clasp. Too bad because the strap is of very good quality. 

My favorite detail is the thin brushed bezel, which adds a lot of reflections and relief to the watch. In short, a very beautiful watch, original, very divisive, for all wrists. And then, a green beaubleu is somewhat original. I am very happy to have such a piece in my collection.

The least blue of the beaubleus: the belleverte?

I had been eyeing this Seiko for months, and I couldn't afford it, because I was a student and had a low income. Limited edition, it completely disappears from sales websites once you have the means in your pocket. It was only during a completely random detour in a shopping mall that I came across a model on display in a store, and I left with it without hesitation. The Presage Cocktail range needs no introduction, but this is the limited "Houjou" model. The dial is simply captivating: this champagne shade, decorated with gold elements on both sides, is simply sublime and I can't stop contemplating it. The leather strap is of excellent quality, very comfortable and very aesthetic. It is a dress-oriented watch, but its diameter of 40.5 on my 16.5 wrist gives it a certain versatility. Indeed, I wear it quite regularly in a "casual" way (with reserved elegance, it is not a sports watch). A change of strap allows it to have this more casual look. It is one of those that I really wanted, and so I would certainly never part with it.

Between elegance and versatility

This watch was given to me by my wife for my appointment in the civil service, so in my eyes it is one (if not the) of my favorites in my collection. 

That being said, it is objectively very successful. In 35mm, it is intended to be very elegant, dressed but the cushion case (or tonneau I do not know) makes it very present on the wrist in reality. It gives an impression much larger than 35mm. 

Its sunburst dial and the black/gold combo of the indexes and hands are incredibly classy! The second hand with the lightning-shaped tip recalls the origin of this model, as does the fact that it is offered in quartz. It is also in this respect that even the exact same model of this watch existed in automatic, I would opt in any case for the quartz model. 

This watch really has a notable presence. It may be the least expensive in my collection, but it is the one I am most "proud" of on my wrist (regardless of the affection I have for it). The bracelet is quite suitable. For 200 euros, it is a must-have for me, especially since it is a historic model from a historic brand. Small defect however on the second hand which is not well aligned with the factory railway.

A small watch that has everything a big one has

My first automatic watch. I was originally on the Tissot/Seiko/Lip trio, but nothing really tempted me. I have a preference for dress watches, quite thin because I have a 16 wrist, and I found Akrone by chance. I was happy because consuming French is important to me, especially without an intermediary, so it was all good! So of course, I prefer to try things before buying, and even more so watches. But the technical sheet got the better of me, and the customer reviews were excellent. The 38mm was a good compromise for my thin wrist. I was initially a little skeptical about the Milanese strap, and I had bought a leather strap to replace it, but in the end it was the Milanese that suited it best, and I always wear it with it. The watch is very light (67g), very thin, fits easily under a shirt or sweater sleeve, you forget you're wearing it. Honestly, this watch gave me a passion for mechanical watches, I bought 2 others since then and I thought they would have overshadowed it, but I still wear it as often (I think it's the one I wear the most). It appears simple at first glance but is full of sublime little details: the vinyl-style bi-texture dial (as its name suggests), the hands inspired by post-war pens, the "beehive" oscillating weight, the domed sapphire crystal... and at this price, it's hard to find better. I am totally satisfied with it and wouldn't part with it for anything in the world.

I really like the model. Being able to see the mechanism is something I really appreciate. The watch is of good quality and it is a pleasure to have it in my collection. 
This is my second Seiko and this brand is truly a favorite. 
The shiny leather strap is unusual at first but you get used to it quickly.

Seiko Presage Cocktail Time Star Bar Limited Edition

I received this watch as a gift for my baptism. It is extremely symbolic for me because it encompasses a great deal of mystical symbolism. First of all, it features an open heart that you can see beating when you look at it. It reminds us of the heart we must put into every endeavor in our lives. Seeing the mechanism in motion is very satisfying. The hands are sword-like, like the instruments of knights who embody justice. Finally, the dial is finished in mother-of-pearl honeycomb, which gives it incredible depth depending on the light. The bees symbolize wisdom.
This Seiko Honeycomb is originally a women's model, limited to 3,000 pieces. It was designed to pay homage to the work of Tokyo bartenders. As soon as I wear it, I always receive compliments and questions about this model! I've been in love with it for four years!

A symbolic watch

The Seiko Presage Blue Moon (REF SRPB41J1) is an accessible and elegant watch that will suit many wrists thanks to its contained diameter of 40.5 mm and its case with a thickness of 11.8 mm. Its dial is just sublime thanks to its guilloche finish which gives it a touch of personality.

My opinion on the Seiko Presage Blue Moon

Already having a Seiko 5 in my collection, I had wanted for some time to upgrade to the Seiko range and the absolutely hypnotizing design of this Seiko Presage Cocktail Time Mojito convinced me immediately. Its green dial that changes color depending on the tilt of the watch and the lighting is absolutely magnificent and reminds me of the atmosphere of Japanese films from the 80s, these golden hands and indexes emphasize the vintage side of the watch, as do the format of the case and the crown. The very simple dial makes its readability extremely fluid. Its transparent background is quite appreciable, even if the movement it reveals could have better precision (+10sec/day on mine). We also appreciate the golden oscillating weight that recalls the hands and the very nice leather strap. However, I prefer to wear it on a Milanese mesh which reinforces the vintage side.

Vintage Japanese style at its best

This Seiko, released in spring 2022, is a very golden "limited" series (5,500 copies) from the Presage Cocktails collection. One of the first watches in my young collection. It is elegant, simple, effective. Its champagne dial has a very worked texture as Seiko knows how to do which plays the light with soft champagne shades that are quite light or more contrasted and golden depending on the light. The very clear indexes contrast with the textured dial. I am quite satisfied with it. But I wear it a little less than the other watches, maybe it is a little too flashy without being bling-bling, or a little too big. The brown leather strap with folding clasp is very practical. It is comfortable to wear and light.
