Seiko 5 Sports Owner Review : Robust, adventurous and casual

I fell for this Seiko 5 for several reasons. First, its design immediately appealed to me: anthracite PVD case, green bezel, textured green dial, and orange second hand... a combination that clearly stands out! It has a real adventurer look, more adventurer than diver, and that's precisely what I liked. The textured dial is undoubtedly what attracted me most: it's truly superb! Sure, it's matte and doesn't play with the light like a sunray dial or some Grand Seikos, but it has a lot of charm. Another good point: the price. For an automatic, it remains very affordable, which allows you to wear it without too much stress on a daily basis. It should be noted, however, that the Hardlex crystal doesn't rival sapphire in terms of scratch resistance... a shame. It comes with a green NATO strap, which, in my opinion, blends perfectly with the whole thing. My only slight regret: the day-date at 3 o'clock. Personally, I would have preferred a more streamlined dial with a simple index instead. I don't wear it every day, mainly because its 42.5 mm case is a bit bulky for my wrist. But it's still a great piece in my collection, with real personality!
