Simple and not that effective

When I first started to take a serious interest in watches, I went through the Seiko fan phase. A phase that a good part of the community goes through. When you don't yet have the means to spend several thousand euros on a watch, and Seiko fans convince you that a Seiko is just as good as a Rolex ;-) So I looked for an inexpensive Seiko on Chrono24 and found this beautiful Seiko 5 model for €80. Indeed, it had many of the features I was looking for in a daily watch: - inexpensive, so I wasn't afraid to wear it - steel bracelet - transparent case back - day-date Plus, you very rarely see Seikos with a window showing the full day and not the large window with the day in three letters and the date, the latter, in my opinion, really spoiling the dial. At first, I did wear it as a daily watch and I really liked it. But over time, it's spent more and more time in my box. Because it does everything only so-so and nothing really well. - Not waterproof - I don't find it particularly well-proportioned when worn (even though it's 10.5mm thick and 37mm in diameter) - The strap isn't very good quality, scratches very easily, and is impossible to replace because it's somewhat integrated into the case: 10mm lug width - Overall, it's a scratch magnet: on the crystal, the case, the bezel, and the strap… - The tiny crown at 4 o'clock is almost impossible to wind with my large fingers, so when you don't wear it often, you're even less inclined to put it back on, wind it, and set the time… - Not very accurate. So, no regrets, but it's become a watch I wear almost exclusively when I go to the gym or do DIY projects, etc…
