I bought this Rolex Oyster Perpetual 1002 a little over 10 years ago, for reasons that are very personal to me. Choosing an OP was an essential thing, but it was also imperative that the watch be from 1967 (my year of birth), that it be original but in near-new condition, and that it must have its papers. Not so simple! I know that vintage and papers don't go well together and I'm not an absolute fan of the full set. But this one, for particular reasons, had to have them. I managed to find what I wanted at a specialist in vintage Rolexes in the USA (but I admit that I struggled a bit before). Since then, this watch has been very symbolic for me, and I wear it especially at very specific moments in my life. It's a very pleasant watch to live with. The case is only 34 mm (without crown), but the rendering on my 18 cm wrist is very correct with the Oyster bracelet. I think it would appear smaller on a leather strap. The caliber is the classic 1570 of this period. The dial is silver sunray and the indexes at 3,6,9 are treated differently which gives a very small (but really small) touch of fantasy. To conclude, this watch was in my eyes essential to my collection, and I will never sell it. And if, it is true, I am not the most objective in the world, we can criticize ROLEX, the Oyster Perpetual is still a very beautiful watch of high quality!
