German minimalism

Having discovered the brand in 2021, I quickly fell under the spell of this German brand. Between its clean lines, clean aesthetics, the finesse of its timepieces, its in-house movements with excellent specifications/finishes for the price, and a variety of dial colors, sizes, and even shapes, I find Nomos attractive and "close" to its customers. The hands and indexes are thin but become incandescent in the slightest ray of light. The mirror polish is so well executed. The movement is pleasing to the eye. The typical characteristics of German movements are present. Thermally blued screws, a 3/4 bridge, Glashütte ribbing, the only thing missing are the brass chatons held in place by three screws, but at this price, there's no room for complaint. Although the lugs are long at Nomos, the watch is light, thin, and comfortable to wear. The Orion model is clearly a classic watch with its stick indexes and small seconds, but the reference 343 adds a little twist with its orange second hand, contrasting with a blue-grey dial that, depending on the light, can appear simply dark grey. The dial is matte, which further highlights the polished case, hands, and indexes. This accentuates the readability of the design and dial, in my opinion. The shell cordovan strap from the famous Horween workshops is truly high-quality. I highly recommend this brand to those looking for quality timepieces with real character, although the minimalism may seem too polished to some. For prices between €1,600 and €4,000, you'll enjoy understated luxury, recognizable almost exclusively by true watch enthusiasts.
