Lip Dauphine - References, Prices and Owners' Reviews

1960s, hand-wound, 34mm: everything you need for a pragmatic vintage piece. Inherited from my grandfather, this gold-plated watch reflects the golden age of Besançon. Its patinated glass reveals a dial with ivory and champagne highlights, as well as twelve applied hour markers accompanied by a tritium dot. Its noisy way of marking time is, for me, its greatest charm.

Simple and unadorned timepiece. 35 millimeters, gold-plated bezel and studs. Powder gray dial with the inscription (incabloc). Case back with a logo or a pattern resembling a coat of arms. I rediscovered this watch that I saw a lot as a child. It's my late Dad's. A recent revision and it comes back to life. Very moved when leaving the workshop with Dad's watch on my wrist.

It is a vintage Lip Dauphine (from the 70s I think) with manual winding. It has a crazy charm due to its domed plexiglass which highlights its cream white dial which attracts the light. The typography of the numbers is simple and beautiful at the same time. The hour and minute hands are matte black, the second hand is gold. The date window fits perfectly into the dial. This watch is one of my rare vintage watches, it was my father's watch, I always saw it on his wrist in my childhood. I think it was this watch that gave me this passion for watches, I loved to listen to its ticking. It accompanied him all over the world, always faithful, it was his only watch.
