Met at the "24 hours of time" in Besançon in June 2024, the Humbert-Droz family presented a prototype of their new Chronograph, I was immediately seduced by the cushion shape of the case which for me makes this chrono very original and elegant. Appointment is made for the release in November. The model is available in 4 versions: Eclipse, Panda, Azur and Solar all limited to 25 pieces with choice of number (if it is not already chosen). The Swiss caliber L100 chronometer from La Joux-Perret with 61 hours of power reserve and column wheel is entirely assembled in the Humbert-Droz workshops in Besançon, the watch is dressed with an alligator leather strap which gives it a very classy look (I repeat myself). The purchase of this watch with personal delivery, a visit to the workshops by Mr. Humbert-Droz and a history of the house made this purchase special, I was buying a watch with a unique history and know-how.

It accompanies me very often because it easily adapts to my daily life by completely changing its look thanks to its two bracelets provided (steel and rubber). It represents the 5th ocean recognized by the National Geographic Society with its bright white dial which also offers excellent readability of the time. Its lollipop second hand is both discreet but clearly visible thanks to this effective Luminova point. The reverse date magnifier (yes the sapphire is flat!) allows the date to be highlighted at 3 o'clock, the date disc is white like the dial with black numerals also well thought out to integrate perfectly while maintaining this famous readability.

A real favorite of this brand, discovered somewhat by chance, and the chance to be in contact with an H.D. "reseller." A family brand with a real watchmaking history (and not just a fake storytelling) spanning three generations. An original, very thoughtful, and serious watch that suggests to me a passing fling between a Panerai and a Bell & Ross. How can we not also see the inspiration for Rudy Meyer's LIP, knowing that his grandfather was close to this family? Humbert-Droz is Reparalux, a behind-the-scenes worker for some of the biggest brands. A Lajoux-Perret mechanism in a case designed in Besançon, a watch that symbolizes the link between Franco-Swiss history.
