Cette Hamilton est l'une de mes premières montres automatique achetée il y a maintenant plus de 30 ans. Je n’étais particulièrement attaché aux montres, même si je trouvais déjà cet objet attirant et nécessitant une attention particulière rien que pour la beauté d'avoir le temps au poignet. Je l'ai portée day-to-day pendant au moins 15 ans avant de commencer à construire une plus large collection et la laisser de côté pour quasiment l'oublier.

Pendant tout ce temps et jusqu'il y a 3 ans... Elle fonctionnait mais montrait des signes de fatigue alors qu'elle n'avait jamais reçu d’entretien digne de ce nom. Lorsque j'ai expliqué cela à mon horloger, il m'a plutôt conseillé de la renvoyer directement au SAV Hamilton, ce que j'ai fait par son intermédiaire. Elle m'est revenue avec  un nouveau joint, le remplacement des axes de/et poussoirs. 2 ou 3 petites pièces du mécanisme usées mais vraiment rien de mortel. Bref, je donne mon avis sur cette montre dont les photos montrent un nouveau bracelet ainsi que la boucle déployante de l'atelier du Bracelet à Paris (très content!) car elle ne m'a jamais laissé tomber tout en ayant fait les 400 coups et jamais tombée en panne, malgré une certaine négligence ! 

Aujourd'hui, je reprends goût aux chronographes et, somme toute, c’est un classique qui est devenu pour moi, la grand-mère de ma collection. On doit toujours respecter sa grand-mère ! Avec son nouveau bracelet, elle risque de reprendre du service en 2026.

I wore it every day for at least 15 years before I started building a larger collection and set it aside, almost forgetting about it.

During all that time, and until three years ago... It worked but was showing signs of wear and tear, even though it had never received any proper maintenance. When I explained this to my watchmaker, he advised me to send it directly to Hamilton's after-sales service, which I did through him. It came back with a new gasket and replacement pins and pushers. Two or three small parts of the mechanism were worn, but nothing serious. In short, I am giving my opinion on this watch, the photos of which show a new strap and folding clasp from the Bracelet workshop in Paris (very happy!), because it has never let me down, even though it has been through a lot and never broken down, despite a certain amount of neglect! 

Today, I'm getting back into chronographs and, all in all, this is a classic that has become the grandmother of my collection. You always have to respect your grandmother! With its new strap, it may well be back in service in 2026.
