An endearing Vintage Constellation

Oris has teamed up with Cervo Volante to deliver a superb Big Crown. The 38 mm format is excellent, especially since the model is rather small. The smoky blue dial with a hint of turquoise is fantastic. The date indicator also matches the dial, making it very discreet. The very domed glass adds a very vintage feel. The polished ribbed bezel matches the large crown. The finish is excellent. The Cervo Volante strap is made of deer leather and is very high quality. Its color works perfectly with the dial. Be careful, it is in 19/15, so quite thin. And then the Sellita-based movement does the job very well with little drift. In the end, this watch is superb and stands out from the usual endless colors. Both chic and versatile.

A legendary Oris with a beautiful association

The khaki field mechanical, a military watch that needs no introduction. Certainly one of the best Field Watches with this reasonable price. The finish is exemplary, the diameter of 38 will suit everyone even if the horns are very long, its finesse is very appreciable thanks to the H10 manual winding movement. The 80-hour power reserve is very comfortable. It is preferably worn with a nato strap but everything suits it. And it seems robust thanks to its sandblasted case and sapphire crystal. The only downside is its water resistance down to the ground but personally, it doesn't matter. In short, a must have!

Khaki field mechanical, the ultimate military watch

This Seiko 5 sport reference SRPE67K1 is surprising. It is certainly an entry-level but the finish is impeccable with a beautiful alternation of mirror polish and brushed, the offset crown brings a very nice side to the design, the large indexes and the hands suit it very well. The lum from Seiko is really impressive. The horns are short so it is a 40 mm but which is worn very well even on a small wrist. The 4R36 movement works very well even if it is not the most precise. As usual on this range the glass is not an aphid but a hardlex unfortunately but it does the job. Be careful though, it is sold on a nato and that still adds quite a bit of thickness. I don't think that's what suits it best. On the other hand I wear it on a rubber and it suits it perfectly. In short, a very nice little watch!

A small Seiko perfect for everyday use

Finally Hamilton has answered Interstellar fans. This version of the khaki field murph in 38 mm is really great with its short horns. The vintage side is still present with indexes and magnificent cathedral hands in a patinated color. The finish is superb and they added an anti-reflective coating to the domed sapphire crystal that did not exist on the 42 mm. A simple 3-hand watch typical of Field Watch but classy at the same time. The mirror polish and brushing are very effective and the matte black dial is discreet and versatile. The alligator-type strap is not bad even if I would have preferred it to be thinner. The stitching matches the indexes and hands. And no offense to some, there is no Morse code inscription on the second hand and that's a good thing! In this format, the most beautiful khaki field!

The Murph in 38mm!

This navygraf takes up the codes of the original version apart from its domed glass. Here the sapphire is flat (too bad). The watch is very endearing with a 39 mm format that suits everyone and the vintage side is very present. The finish is correct. Be careful however with the very cheap original bracelet that should be replaced. My version is equipped with the Yema 2000 which runs like a charm with a low drift. The watch therefore does the job even if I would have liked a beautiful domed glass and indexes perhaps a little better finished.

The almost perfect watch! You can do anything with it! It is robust, I love the brushed steel, I feel like the watch is impossible to scratch. The falsely patinated indexes are magnificent, the luminescent material works wonderfully and for a long time! Reading the time couldn't be easier, the NATO strap is comfortable, the little touches of leather add that little something extra. The 80-hour power reserve is very appreciable. The hands are basic but very effective, and the slightly domed sapphire crystal is anti-reflective, which is very pleasant! There is also a stop second, which is not always the case on watches in this price range. I absolutely love everything about this watch that can be worn in any circumstance. With its iconic design, its features, and its history, I find that the price is really more than justified! It’s hard to do better, for me the Khaki Field is really Hamilton’s centerpiece (with the Ventura which we hear a little less about). The only downside, if we have to find one, is its water resistance to only 50 meters, certainly it’s not a watch whose purpose is to go in the water, but a water resistance to 100m would have really been the icing on the cake.

My Hamilton Khaki Action Sport automatic, 40 mm, from 2005 is in new condition. It is a watch that I am very attached to. I put a suede leather strap on it that suits it very well. The removable crown protector gives it originality. The matte case plays into its discretion. I like it very much.

My Hamilton khaki field GMT watch that I bought about ten years ago has followed me on so many adventures and trips that it is the ultimate watch for the adventurer, waterproof 200 meters GMT. I bought this watch when it came out. I was going to buy a classic machine-made steel khaki, and it came out. It was a real favorite.

I like:

I recommend this model and Hamilton without reservation. I can't find any flaws in it based on my use and expectations, but here are a few points to watch out for:
- 50m water resistance, yes, you won't be able to swim with sharks with it... but you can wash dishes, take a shower, or even go swimming.
- The bronze patinas very quickly and unevenly; you have to like the raw quality of the material.

In short, it ticks all the boxes for me;
- A watch with character but remains discreet for everyday use.

Hamilton Khaki field mechanical in 38 mm. I had the beige strap mounted on it, it did not suit me, lack of comfort. I opted for a 2-piece nato which changed everything.
