Kurigama's review on his Grand Seiko SBGJ

For my 30th birthday, I wanted a watch that exuded something—emotion, elegance, charisma. I was immediately captivated by this Shosho model from Grand Seiko, reminiscent of the ripples of wind on water. The textured dial is mesmerizing; you could spend hours observing the reflections in the light. The GMT function adds an extra touch of midnight blue aesthetic that blends perfectly with the sky-blue dial. I was worried the watch might be heavy because it's quite thick, but it's not at all. It sits perfectly under a shirt cuff and remains discreet on the wrist. It makes its presence known without being too bulky. The hi-beat movement reflects Japanese craftsmanship, and even though it's not a spring-drive, the seconds hand glides smoothly across the dial. Originally sold with a metal bracelet and a folding clasp, I opted for a leather strap with a pin buckle. It's a huge favorite of mine.
