Without hesitation, I headed straight to the Seiko store on the day of its release to try them on with my daughter. The beauty of watchmaking? Sharing your passion? That's exactly what I did that day with my 21-month-old daughter, who chose the three colors for me (and it wasn't the one I had originally picked). A sweet little story that I'll remember every time I wear it.
Okay, so what about the watch itself, you ask? It's super fun, with a very easy-to-use rotating bezel, a bracelet with a finish that surpassed my expectations, and a secure clasp.

Resulting from a collaboration with the artist Seconde Seconde, this Q Reissue model proudly displays the colors of the Marvel hero Hulk.

I love the format of the basic Reissue and the little details added by the collaboration are very nice, especially this dot-shaped second hand.

Bought for the superhero symbol and received the day after my daughter's birth, this watch will forever remain in my collection.

Hoping that one day she will be able to wear it herself and remember all the wonderful times we have had and will continue to have together!

A bit of poetry with this superb SBGE305 whose dial is inspired by the Hotaka mountain!
Beyond poetry, this dial is just incredible and goes from sunburst red to matte burgundy in the blink of an eye.
In addition to that, proportions for a diver that suit my chicken wrist and above all a well-respected balance.
The movement is not left out with the famous Spring drive of the Japanese house.
And yes, Grand Seiko also knows how to make sports watches!

A Japanese GMT!

I had thought long and hard - for about 2 years - about the watch that would complete my collection. I had settled on the Seamaster Professional 300 from Omega. I wanted a diver. Not because I am a diver, but to be able to wear my watch all the time and in all circumstances.
And then I discussed Grand Seiko with friends, I read up on the brand, and my interest grew. And then I went to try on the SBGE255 Place Vendôme in the GS boutique. That was enough for me to confirm that this was the one I needed. Diameter better suited to my wrist (40.5 against 42 for the SMP), GMT function with a magnificent blue hand, a sublime dial full of reflections, a power reserve indicator, and then the Spring Drive movement... wow!

A GMT by Grand Seiko, sleek and perfectly finished!

After watching a very comprehensive report on the spring drive movement that definitely convinced me that this movement is indeed a mechanical movement above all, I started to analyze the different models and see which one could suit me best. At the same time I was looking for a green watch. By cross-referencing the 2 criteria (spring drive + green dial) I arrived at this SBGE257 model. In the process I went to an AD Grand Seiko (Bijouterie Médard in Versailles) where I had the chance to try it. After 2 days of thinking about it I went back to buy it. For 8 months it is the watch that I wear the most, it is superb from all angles. The dial is matte most of the time and becomes sunray in strong light. The precision of the springdrive is obviously unbeatable (I noticed a drift of 1 to 2s per month). The zaratsu polishing of the hands and indexes is incredible. This is one of the watches that raises the most questions when I wear it, especially with its second hand with a perfectly fluid movement that slides endlessly. As you will have understood, I highly recommend this model. With my Rolex Explorer II, it has become my favorite daily. The only downside: the screws on the bracelet links are really very small and difficult to handle (the bracelet should be adjusted by your watchmaker).
