And if, over the years, I have gradually reoriented myself towards watches with a less imposing diameter and a less bestial look, my passion for the brand remains. So, when the possibility of obtaining what is in my eyes the purest G-shock presented itself to me, not through a passionate friend, I jumped at the chance. Because what you have before your eyes is indeed a G-shock that simply tells the time, period. No chrono, date, or even GMT display. Released in 1997, it is the first G-shock with an analog display in the MR-G collection, the brand's most premium. Powered by solar energy, radio-controlled for unparalleled accuracy in any time zone, with a crazy LED lighting and plenty of other features that I still have yet to discover! What is it doing in my collection of mechanical watches? That's a big question. For example, the dial is exceptionally deep! I rarely wear it, but it's always a pleasure to put it back on my wrist when I'm gardening or tinkering...
