Tissot PRX digital, 40 mm. I bought it about ten days ago and almost left a review immediately. That would have been a mistake, given the initial rush. The quartz movement/price ratio seemed unfair, especially since the functions are so basic! But then, as the days went by, the perceived quality, the comfort, and its certain elegance made me change my mind...or almost. Why PRX? Is the brand solid enough to create a different design and name? Given the success of the original model, I understand the continuation. This model is just as heavy as the automatic version. The readability is good. An important detail: the discount applied at the time of purchase. I wouldn't have bought it at full price. A good buy nonetheless.

Why PRX?

What can I say...Given the "thickness" of the Citizen group, they can afford to release models like this.
Titanium case, solar quartz movement, calfskin strap for around 180 euros with the sales...The latter is heavier than the case!
Lightness, readability, reliability, water resistance...I got the all-blue model, which is as pretty as it is discreet.
In the morning, don't want to wind an automatic? It's always available; it's comfortable.
The only downside is the small size of the date/day window, which isn't very legible. No big deal.
Too perfect? No, just ideal for everyday reading.

Do as I do, wear a...

Codhor watch, from the 80s, bought less than 10 years ago in NOS condition on eBay...about 36 mm in diameter, hand-wound...never serviced, keeps time perfectly with a power reserve of about 40 hours!!!...You have to wonder if you should spend more?!...fortunately there is something else, than the utilitarian side, in the passion for watches...I rarely wear it but I am happy to own one in this condition, it reminds me of another era with this famous ad.

Swatch Obsidian Shimmer, 40 mm
Very flat metal case, metal pin buckle, very supple silicone strap. Very comfortable and very readable. Its dial could be mesmerizing. No lume for nighttime use, which is a shame. No second hand, extremely silent. Impulse purchase at a price (€215) that I find excessive for such a watch.

A silent but expensive Swatch...

A pleasant watch for summer. As light as a plastic Swatch! Its gray color is unique due to the transparent case back, which reveals the mechanism. It's easy to read with its blue indexes and red hands. The strap is very flexible, which is pleasant. I own a few Swatch watches, and this is by far the loudest... a real 80s alarm clock!!! Irreplaceable for keeping accurate time every day.

Light, readable, precise...but noisy!

It reminds me of watches from the 80s, the Camel Trophy, especially the bezel. Personally, I wouldn't wear it for canyoning, hiking, or any other dynamic activity; G-Shock does better. But for everyday use or for a discovery trip, it will do the job perfectly. It exudes quality. From the moment you wind it manually, you can feel the solidity of the mechanism. Perfect readability, 3 hands... the basics. The strap is good, the stitching ensures good strength, even during a stay in humid areas, you won't risk losing the case (experience...). The motor is excellent, with an 80-hour power reserve, which is comfortable. The only downside is the design of the pin buckle, which is square and doesn't really match. I was just saying something! During this sales period, it remains very interesting as an impulse purchase!!!

Casio G-Shock 2100B...on vacation in Japan, I thought I would bring back, among other souvenirs, a watch. I wanted a Kuoe Kyoto. Not impressed. I had Casio in the back of my mind. And while wandering around, I came across the G-Shock store in Osaka. My blood boiled!!! Do they have the G2100 in red? Yessss! No hesitation, purchase made...with for me all that it represents. Should I write an article about it? This model is very well known...I would have preferred it in solar, but what a pleasure. And obviously, I will lack objectivity on the rating!

Another G-Shock...

Finally, a G-SHOCK in my collection and what a smashing entrance!! I never thought it would take me so long to welcome a G-SHOCK into my collection. And what an entrance! This GM-S5600YS-1 is not just a watch, it is a tribute to aesthetics and resistance. This black beauty, the fruit of the collaboration between G-SHOCK and Y's, Yohji Yamamoto's first brand, perfectly embodies my passion for Japanese watchmaking and fashion.

A First Smashing Step into the G-SHOCK World

I bought it to accompany me in my work which is manual work. What I like is that I don't need to worry about it. Its comfort with the rubber strap. In terms of look, the vertical brushed anthracite dial is very effective. The indexes are placed both on the dial and on the flange which gives a certain depth to the watch. The digital display, although tiny, remains readable in order to take advantage of the classic functions of a Casio.

La Casio GM-2100-1AER 

With my profession, I risk damaging my beautiful watches. So, for my daily professional life, I need a very, very robust, reliable watch with useful complications (alarm, timer, date, day, etc.). However, I want a watch that I find pretty and suitable for my wrist that gives me as much satisfaction as my beautiful automatics (but that I can drop, knock, etc.). The solution is the G shock GM-2100... my love for green timepieces is reflected in this beautiful futuristic metal dial. This watch with very reasonable dimensions for a G shock makes it seem like something else. And for this price, honestly, this timepiece is incredible!!! The only flaw may be in this rubber strap that is too rigid, which makes it less comfortable to wear. Finally, this addictive model really has a lot of charm, and manages to transform itself into an almost luxurious and chic watch despite all the features that make g shock objects Wow 🤯

Green Casio-Oak metal  waou !

The Casio GM-B2100D-1AER nicknamed CasiOak because of its octagonal bezel that looks like you know who is mostly from the DW-5000C. 
Is it really a G-shock? 
By that I mean, is it as resistant as the other Casios in the range? 

To tell the truth, I wouldn't throw it against a wall. 
Due to its full steel design, it is therefore very sensitive to scratches. 
Nevertheless, between the hands and the wrist, we have a real feeling of robustness and elegance. 
This comes from the work done on the steel which is mostly polished on the case and which perfectly reflects the light, as well as the brushed bezel which reflects this feeling of robustness. The eye is also well attracted by the polished brushed finish of the bracelet, with its small circles dug into the links with a polished surface. 

Although it does not have the qualities of its resin elders, it keeps all the G-shock DNA in terms of design and features. It will also have the Bluetooth function for settings and the solar charging system.

Small downside, I would have liked it to also be able to recharge in indoor light.

I have to regularly check the exposure of the watch, to be able to wear it when I want. If it is discharged, it will be necessary to wait a fairly long period proportional to its lack of exposure to light.

This chic sport CasiOak is truly very beautiful, fascinating and endearing.

G-shock CasiOak

When I started to take an interest in G-Shock watches, I discovered the GM-B2100D-1AER which proudly sat on the home page of the Casio website. I was immediately seduced by this full-metal "Casioak". As usual when I start to take an interest in a model, I read through all the articles and videos I could find about it. The more I read up on it, the more it excited me, but at over €500, I was still a little hesitant. Especially since I couldn't try it on near my home. Finally, marketing got the better of me and a 15% discount online made me take the plunge.

The day I received it, I was so excited that I tore up the packaging in the UPS relay car park, I could finally admire the beauty in real life and put it on my wrist. I'll spare you the first evening spent looking at it from every angle and testing the Bluetooth and all the little features. The next day it left with me and like every new purchase, I wore it non-stop for a few days. But in the end the honeymoon didn't last as long as expected.

The next day I put the description on the Casio website into perspective a bit: "circular polishing", "bezel with a unique shine", "high-quality metal case", "high level of precision and adjustment", "meticulous forging, cutting and polishing process". Okay, yes, the watch is nice and it's true that it shines a lot. On the other hand, the description is a bit overrated, the perceived quality being rather similar to models in an equivalent price range. But hey, it's not below par, that's already something!

I had never understood why in so many media outlets we talk about the readability of a watch. For me, 2 or 3 hands on a background are visible and you can read the time, I didn't really see where the debate was. Well, I understood the next day. 2 black hands on a black background is not great. So if the watch has been in the sun and the luminescence is charged, it's fine, but otherwise it takes 2 seconds to see the time. It's not better for the analog screen so the font is already very small but also gray on a black background. Not great at night either with the small LED that only lights up the analog screen on the bottom right but not really the hands.

I didn't find my way around the size either. The first links on each side of the case have a fixed angle so that the watch doesn't fit my (maybe too small) wrist well and leaves an unsightly space that I tried to illustrate in a photo.

As a general rule, I like to match my watches to my activities or outfits based on style and colors. Well, for this one, it's a waste, I never know what to wear it with. Too sporty with a suit or blazer, too dressy and fragile to do sports, even in casual I have trouble matching it. I hadn't paid special attention to it when Théo du Calibre talked about it in his video, and yet that's the reason why it doesn't find its place in my collection. We're moving away a bit from the DNA of a G-Shock, but in reality, perhaps Casio's target was die-hard fans looking for a more dressy model. In any case, I can't find a use for it and so I wear it very little. I hope to find a new owner who will certainly know how to appreciate it at its true value better than I do!
