Having waited long enough for Bulova to release a more compact version of the Lunar Pilot (other than the black PVD version), I finally took the plunge. Despite its 51 millimeters, it fits perfectly on my 18.5 cm wrist, and its size gives it a striking presence. Ultimately, it's the weight that bothers me most, and I'm already on the hunt for a beautiful light brown leather strap that will suit it perfectly, based on photos I've seen on forums. I won't remind you of the memorable size of this model, worn by Commander David Scott during the Apollo 15 mission in August 1971, which gives this watch a truly historical feel. In addition to its striking presence, the two key strengths of this timepiece are its extreme precision and a seconds hand that glides perfectly smoothly thanks to the Precisionist quartz movement. We can also add excellent legibility thanks to its deep black dial and white markers. The fully polished case adds a touch of luxury but is more prone to micro-scratches. Ultimately, despite some initial apprehension, I'm very happy with this great time, which will now be a regular part of my rotation, especially during evening events.
