Vostok Owner Review : Sporty, energized and readable

This Vostok Kadet model with its light blue dial exudes an extraordinary freshness. The diameter is compact, measuring 39 mm including the bezel, and the crown is positioned at 1:30 so as not to interfere with the side of the wrist. It's worth noting, however, that some people, like Vladimir Putin, have made a habit of wearing their watches on their right wrist to avoid having the crown at 3 o'clock, when simply not having the crown at 3 o'clock would suffice. The numerals appear to drift away from the center, following the direction of centrifugal force, except for those in the lower section, which are inverted (the 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 are in a centripetal position for improved legibility). The watch is quite light for a dive watch: 38g. The caliber is a 17-jewel Vostok 2409A. The difficulty lies in the winding system with the screw-down crown; it never works on the first try. This is probably the price you pay for a waterproof watch from Vostok. And that's why the automatic amphibia models are easier to wear.
