Tissot Visodate Owner Review : Noble, delightful and sumptuous

The Heritage Visodate is one of the Swiss brand's most popular watches, with its simple dial, prominent date display, and tapered case. However, it wasn't until I discovered the original Visodate Automatic from the 1950s and 1960s that I finally understood this model. I discovered this reference in a childhood friend's collection. Among the watches from the great brands, his little Tissot emanated something special, and I had to have one. Now I have, and we share a second model in our respective collections. It's a 34 mm diameter watch, made of 18 kt gold, with a Tissot-Omega automatic movement and a very well-crafted case, with interesting surface effects, a tapered case middle, and discreet brushing on the side of the lugs. The refined dial highlights the model's flagship complication: the date. This watch is both simple and complex, because everything is in the detail and balance of its design.
