This isn't the exact model of the original 1969 Monaco, but it's a very important watch to me. I bought a CW2113 in 2010 that I wore regularly. I had to part with it, like others, due to a change in my life. I was able to replace some important watches later on, including this Monaco. The one I'm showing you is its twin, bought secondhand from a Parisian dealer. When I got home, the watch wasn't keeping time at all. After a proper service by a reputable watchmaker, it was back in working order and had earned its place in my collection. I love this watch; it's very important to me. Its plexiglass crystal gives it a more appealing look in my eyes than a sapphire crystal; the 38mm case, as well as its weight and thickness, please me more than the later models. It's a watch in its original condition that I'm not afraid to wear and that brings me joy. Without getting into the historical debate about whether or not this Monaco was a favorite of Steve McQueen...
