Glimpsed at on the wrist of a famous content creator, I spent much more time mesmerized by snippets of dials and the incredible strap than actually focusing on the content. So much so that, realizing that it wouldn't leave my mind, I began actively researching what the watch was, and I clearly wasn't the only one obsessed with it. And when I finally found the model, I spiraled down to the latest iteration in close-up: a horological crush. No other watch had ever made me feel such a need to acquire it, not even the GS SBGA413, which I'd long considered a fantasy not to be fulfilled. When it came time to buy it, I even considered making the trip to Paris, a city I don't like at all: the desire to try it on, yes, but also to chat with its creators. Also because choosing the dial was particularly difficult: first I was seduced by the Denali, then puzzled by this strange California dial that I'd seen on other watches but which had never intrigued me so much, or interested me in the Commando's excellent readability. I finally fell for the California for its "curiosity" aspect, and with the idea that it might arouse as much curiosity in those who look at it as it did in me. I'll start by talking about my biggest disappointment, opening the case: I felt so little emotion even though I waited day and night for this moment. The reason is a bit harsh: seeing it, picking it up, and putting it on my wrist was a given. It had to be like that, and I was even late in making this purchase. Now for the good points: - Incredible design that lends itself to oxymoron. It's minimalist and rich. It's a dress watch and it's a field watch. It's simple and full of details. I would say that the combination of brushed and mirror-polished finishes, and the thick brushed bezel around the deep black dial, really work wonders. - The bracelet is a pleasure in itself: adjustable on the fly, comfortable, and beautiful. And the clasp, which sits on the side of the wrist rather than underneath, with its Serica decoration. I think it was really this bracelet that made me interested in this watch. - I didn't have high hopes for the Luminova, having never owned a watch that was truly effective in this regard: what a surprise to discover that it lasts all night. - COSC certified: bliss for a good-time maniac. - An incredible GADA. For the moment, the only time I prefer is with orange clothes. I suspected it a little, but those around me strongly doubted it: it's replacing all my other watches. I only wear this one now, and my only regret is not having bought it sooner.
