Serica 1174 Parade Owner Review : Distinguished, robust and atypical

This design either pleases or repels. I like it. Otherwise, I have no complaints about this watch. The case appears to be the result of a deformation/compression of a Serica 6190, and visually, that's all that separates it from other Sericas. The hands are new, and contrary to what the photos might suggest, they are anything but simple. A slight curve gives them the touch of refinement one would expect from a dress watch. The same can be said of the dial, a deep black with a slight sunburst (what a treat in the sun) and, above all, crafted with a form of engraving that reveals itself with every movement of the wrist. The indexes are like the rest of the watch: efficient, refined, and distinguished. The highlight? An ultra-precise automatic movement (the same as in the 6190 or 5303), not "exaggerated" here since the second hand is missing, and water resistance to 100m, enough to make a splash in the pool during a boozy evening without a second thought. A watch that you don't see on every wrist, and that's also something I like. It has character and is a clear statement of its wearer's tastes.
