To give you a bit of context, I was in charge of transportation for the supply of the Olympic venues for Paris 2024. My job was to manage a team of planners and flow managers so that the Olympic venues could receive everything they needed for assembly and installation. This ranged from fans to referee chairs to the flooring for the basketball training rooms. Among all this equipment, one received more media attention than the others: the famous cardboard beds. These beds were created by a Japanese company for the Tokyo Olympics. A collaboration and almost friendly relationships were created after overcoming many challenges. Before the ceremony, I was invited to a dinner by this company. And my main contact, knowing my passion for watches, brought me back from Japan this little Seiko Spirit Chronograph ref. SBRT017. A lovely little inexpensive watch, with a beautiful bottle green, almost sunburst-effect dial, a good-quality brown leather strap, and a high-quality folding clasp (the same as on my Seiko Alpiniste, which costs four times as much). This watch is really nice. Only one detail quickly betrays its low price: the writing on the sub-dials, in a very cheap printed white that contrasts perfectly with the green and the numerous gold details. But to sum up, for the price, it's a super nice quartz chronograph with a 24-hour indicator, a 60-minute chronograph, a discreet small seconds hand that makes the small hand's jump less visible, lume on the indexes, the hour and minute hands, a date window at 4:30, 100m water resistance, and a nice leather strap with a folding clasp. I recommend it if it meets your expectations. I rarely wear it, but it still completes my collection.
