Having reached the end of my romance with my BB58, I was looking for a diver that would eventually replace it! My target: a diver with a blue dial to diversify my collection, classy, with greater water resistance and a superior finish! Although not a fan of James Bond at the base, I opted for this reference, which is quite difficult to access new, for its spirit of synthesis of all the Seamasters, especially those that appeared in the various spy films! A recent Seamaster but which takes up the codes of the past, with an aluminum dial and bezel, a wave pattern dial like Pierce Brosnan's first, a Lollipop hand, the triangle of the diving bezel replaced by a 60 very consistent with the reference and its usefulness to quantify the 60 minutes making up an hour! In addition, I like sober watches, but I like it just as much when this sobriety hides an exclusivity, a particular brand or a secret animation... and there bingo! Its dial side is sober, classy, in a sumptuous blue! On the back, we can see the co-axial caliber with a particularity or even a fantasy: a sapphire crystal animated by the entrance scene of James Bond, where he appears in the gun barrel! the kind of little signature that I love and that you have to turn over to see! The animation is activated by the lollipop hand inspired by the film spectre! In short, beyond these elements the main reason for this quest is above all its deep blue color that I was looking for but also and above all the ability of this watch to be as dressy as it is sporty! such a special seamaster…

This watch is my biggest watch crush and I was lucky enough to acquire it a little over 3 years ago! However, I discovered it a year earlier on the internet on famous watch news sites! Not having a watch of watch quality at that time, this watch quickly became my fantasy, but living in Reunion Island the hope of coming across it was slim! Moral of the story, the local distributor, a renowned watchmaker had it in his window. It was even more beautiful than in the photo, I was hypnotized right away, excited like a kid in front of Zidane or a Porsche 911! Not having the financial means to acquire it at that time, I told myself that I must trust in fate, and take the time to save up at the risk of seeing it pass under my nose, for its rarity (2998 copies in the world), especially in Reunion Island. So after a year, armed with the budget for the item (€5,400 new) I went back to this shop, telling myself that if it was still there it was for me! Another moral of the story: it was still there, to the great astonishment of the manager and the salesperson, who in their experience had never seen such a piece remain so long without a buyer! It has shared my life, my joys and disappointments for a little over 3 years and is my watchmaking grail while it is the first watch in my collection that has been completed since. Shivers, emotions, it is classy, racing, it makes me vibrate! I love it and I can only recommend it to buyers who will be able to find it only second-hand from now on, all the new models having been sold worldwide. Introducing my Omega Speedmaster ck2998 limited edition

Third and final episode of my "watchmaking adventure" series, this Grand Seiko logically complemented my speed panda and my bb58 that you can discover on my Instagram @watchyab . The idea was to find an unusual dress watch, with a white or ivory dial, with a different identity from my other two watches. This is how, after multiple searches, I came across this Grand Seiko SBGM021 with GMT complication! In terms of emotion, I remember the shivers that rose up my arm when I put it on my wrist! Its ivory dial is to die for, as is the polishing of the case and hands that the firm calls zaratzu. Three other details that are to die for: the transparent back revealing a beautifully finished auto caliber, the date window with an incredible finish, and finally the writing of the 24h gmt in navy blue on the very fine dial! After two years on my wrist, this watch is a delight, it shines brightly while remaining discreet with its 39.8mm! Its leather strap is also very classy, as is the pin buckle! It looks super dressy with a classic old side, it is ideal with a suit! In short, with an equivalent finish you would have to spend very high financially to acquire it if it was a Jaeger Lecoultre or an Omega! Of my three watches, it is the one that offers the highest level of finish and by far! The quality-price ratio is phenomenal! I can only recommend it to you! What about my fourth watch now?! Lol

My dress watch with a Japanese twist

New to my collection, this little King Seiko comes to play the role of a sporty chic character alongside my speed panda, my bb58 and my GS gmt. Playing the role of daily with its silver sunray dial inherited from the KSKs of yesteryear, it knows how to be discreet! by its 37mm case! But it remains no less charismatic by its features specific to the design of king seiko… taut lines, brushed case, mirror-polished chamfers, polished bezel, affixed logo! Its bracelet is crazy, it is worth the detour alone! It has a crazy charm… it has punctuated my daily life for a month now!

My Japanese sport chic! My little King…

Acquired in August 2020, this BB58 is the 2nd arrival in my collection! In my selection process, I wondered which watch would complement my speed ck2998 (see my review https://www.dialicious.com/omega/speedmaster_ck_2998 ) and serve as my daily watch? This tudor ticked all the boxes: small diameter (39mm), well finished, discreet, robust, water-resistant to 200m, and goes everywhere! I had asked my AD to notify me of its arrival in store and that's how I was able to discover it! In hand, I liked it even more than in the photo, the choice of black or blue was available to me, but in my collector's mind I associate the spirit of a blue dial with a chic sports watch! So I opted for the black one, in my opinion more consensual and more in the spirit of the product, which is to make Neo vintage on the basis of a previous model with a black dial. After two and a half years of use, I am very satisfied, it is the watch that I wear the most, the most versatile! I loved it on steel, but I recently put it on its black and gold Tudor Nato, which suits it perfectly! However, I find that the Nato gives it another look, more adventurous, a little less classy, but suddenly, the Nato renews this watch, and leaves the choice of the switch with the steel according to your mood! In short, this 3-hand no date diver spirit, with an old-fashioned bezel that is not ceramic, already gives it a vintage look, and approaches time with happiness: it is like good wine, with scratches and traces of life it will be even more beautiful in the future! In short, at this price, in this segment, I find it great, go for it! Finally, for those who have the idea of having a unique watch, I also find that it is ideal, because for me it concentrates a lot of qualities: class, sport, consensual and discreet with a level of finish that is hyper qualitative at this price!

Found in poor aesthetic condition, I managed to revive it (thanks yoyo), and yes you gave me the Seiko quartz virus, I was already well started with Japanese watches! 😂
It is equipped with the thermo-compensated caliber 4823, a good tractor!
I could not find an original bracelet, but I found one that suits it well.
It has a case that we recognize in the seiko or grand seiko style!
A sublime dial, which changes color, really crazy!

King quartz 

I had been looking to taste the joys of the high beat seiko for a long time, on a vintage watch of course. I was able to buy it thanks to an ad on Facebook, it was the opportunity that made the thief.. The opportunity was too good, came like a divine message after 6 hours of waiting in line for nothing in front of the swatch store rue du cherche midi.. for only 100 euros more.. it brought me back down to earth and forgot the stroke of marketing genius of the famous collaboration. Far from being a simple consolation, this watch brought me a lot of pleasure, it is certainly the one I have worn the most for 6 months. Of course, it is not perfect and I bought it knowingly (slightly polished case and non-original crown) but it is mine and I have completely accepted these small defects which ultimately are not really any. I find it to be of a rare versatility and a complex simplicity. I also find that the gold medallion hidden on the bottom of the box -- besides providing an obvious cachet -- corresponds well to the whole Japanese philosophy: the primacy of personal delight over appearances.

For the relaunch of the king seiko they’ve relaunch the little brother of grand seiko this beautiful piece is a limited edition of 1200 yes 1200 worldwide the dial is inspired by the first seiko boutique in Tokyo which sadly burned because of an earthquake too actually think that they did such a little amount of them it’s amazing truly a big fans watch 

The king is back

I was looking for an elegant watch, with an elegant diameter and an elegant dial. I was largely served by this King Seiko model SPB291J1 which was a new variant of this collection last summer (2022 if I remember correctly), at the time of my research. Beyond the story telling of the model ("The dial of this second new King Seiko creation features a sunburst finish whose soft purple hues capture the subtlety and beauty of Kameido's wisteria in its delicate gradient from the center to the edge."), I was truly captivated by the particular color of the dial evolving with the ambient light (one sometimes has the impression that the dial is backlit...), by the detailed work of the indexes, by these dauphine hands and by the general cleanliness with the beveled atmosphere of this watch. In my opinion, it expresses all its qualities on a metal bracelet, whose work I also find exceptional, and gives off a freshness that I never tire of. On a purely technical level, the power reserve is exceptional (weekend proof) and I confirm a previous comment: it is more precise than the manufacturer's display even if this is not an important criterion for me. The fact that it is a special edition only sold in Seiko stores was also not displeasing to me. In short, this watch will remain in my collection for a very long time...

Elegantly fresh!

Interested in the history of Seiko and the rivalry between King Seiko and Grand Seiko, I got this watch. 
It is a vintage from 1972, kanji date, 4Hz movement. This is the first vintage watch in my collection. I like its high frequency movement, its original knife-cut case, its sunray dial as well as the finishing of the hands and indexes.
