Here is a small Seiko reference 7009, I inherited it from my uncle who is unfortunately no longer with us, so I dedicate this review to him, he who was also a fan of Seiko just like me, and this watch will remind me of the good times spent with him, this Seiko was his first who bought it new in the 80s, automatic caliber reference 7009-876A day date with a tonneau case typical of his years, I had the case back engraved in his memory, don't worry uncle it is in good hands. Rest in peace!

Here is the latest one which is a Seiko Alpinist the latest Prospex model reissue of the famous and much coveted Sarb017, with its green sunray dial and its gilt indexes!
My model came out with the famous cyclops on the date which spoils a little this sublime dial, without further ado I modified all that and with a little trick I removed all that to give Caesar what is Caesar's! 😉
Even if the date is white it does not shock at all, the watch is now to my taste with the crazy charm of this so emblematic model. You will see in the photos before and after the removal of the cyclops, good reading thank you.

Seiko alpinist prospex

Here is one of my vintage, a so-called jumbo Lip with a gold-plated case in the art deco style from the 50s I think with the famous R25, size 38 mm, good size for the time and small seconds, it has been restored, revised and re-plated by a watchmaker friend in Belgium, it is like new with its white dial which has suffered the traces of time with a lunar effect. A marvel and a piece of French watchmaking history on my wrist.

Ma Lip vintage jumbo 

Here is a rather rare model, 
Indeed it is the first eco-drive model 
Presented in 1974 by Citizen, a prototype that was never marketed at the time, 
The first marketed model was released in 1976. 
In 2020 Citizen re-released this model in commemoration on the occasion of the anniversary of its marketing in Italy (which was at the time the first country to sell eco-drive models in Europe). 
It is a limited edition of 750 copies. 
And of which I am the happy owner, another piece of history on the wrist.

A marvel with its octagonal bezel in line with the style of that time!
I would add a dedication to Super Yo-yo, he will be recognized for his pipes because although it is in very good aesthetic condition, the bitch was a little capricious to start again!

This Seiko Alpinist sarb 017 is very well made for its price. I bought it in November 2019 on Amazon for 500 euros. A perfect size of 38 millimeters rare in 2019 where watches are too big for my taste. All Seiko fans said to acquire this watch as soon as possible before it is no longer marketed by watch sales sites. This Seiko Alpinist comes straight from Japan and was not marketed in Europe, hence the obligatory passage to buy it, to go through an international online platform. The watch has a very nice finish for its price, a sapphire crystal and a steel case back and not transparent. Which gives it a vintage and high-end side. One could think of a much more expensive watch .... what made me crack in addition to its size of 38 millimeters is also and above all its green dial which changes in the sun from electric green color to a matte olive glass. The reflections of the sun make it unique and very desirable. It is a watch that is not often found on people's wrists. Two other super pleasant style details are the second small crown for the compass and its hour crown which is screwed for a water resistance of 200 meters. Even if I never put it in water it is reassuring. In addition the hour crown is engraved with a small S of Seiko. The gold indexes blend perfectly with the green of the dial. It has a classy and sporty side, which makes the watch very versatile and timeless. Its automatic movement keeps the time perfectly and it is like any good Seiko very reliable and inexpensive if you have to have it serviced or replaced. A watch to have for a man or a woman without hesitation so go for it!!

Seiko Alpinist sarb017

For the 140th anniversary of the brand, Seiko has released a new Alpinist limited edition Ginza. It is a reinterpretation of the Alpinist model that appeared in 1959... I had a real crush on this version. I love its look, the dial of this marvel is a real killer. Its 38 mm diameter is perfect. Very pleasant watch to wear. The 6r35 caliber is very precise 1s/d. You will have understood, I am under its spell. To date, it is the prettiest in my modest collection!

Seiko Alpinist spb259 Ginza 

In my watch box for almost 3 years, this watch is part of my daily life as the perfect everyday watch. Its limited edition dial (Mountain Sunset) sets it apart from the others. 

On a steel bracelet, it accompanies me to the ends of the earth thanks to its robustness and waterproofness. And on a leather strap, it is very easy to wear with a suit, a shirt or a more casual outfit. Its versatility is its strength. Although adventurous by nature, its polished bezel gives it a resolutely vintage dresswatch look. The cherry on the cake is the transparent back that allows you to admire the 6R35 caliber with its 72 hours of power reserve. 

The main flaw for me is the following: the precision of the caliber, remember to check this aspect, despite the quality of the latter, Seiko tends to tolerate too much drift ... mine went back to after-sales service, now it's ok: +10sec/day. 



A real everyday watch

A steel case, a green dial and gold indexes... The bet was risky but as the other would say, the risk pays off! Probably the most versatile and versatile watch in my collection with its very functional features: 38mm, screw-down crown, brushed case and polished bezel, very nice finishes, compass function, well-integrated date, applied indexes and logo, double crown. A watch that you can take to the ends of the earth and that has a real identity as we like them!

The SARB017, a watch with character!

My Seiko Alpinist is sublime, it has toolwatch specs and a dresswatch look, a very good 70h power reserve with a very famous 6R35 movement! It has a diameter of 39.5mm. Really very pleasant to wear! I wanted a blue dial watch, waterproof 200m, without rotating bezel and when I went to Seiko Lyon I fell for this one with its green sunray dial (yes and not blue), its golden hands and its cyclops for the date (mandatory for my failing eyesight). A pleasure and a treat to wear.
But I had precision problems, it lost 50s per day 5 months after purchase. After it spent 7 months in after-sales service I got it back! It works much better. And I LOVE it!
