Here is a small Seiko reference 7009, I inherited it from my uncle who is unfortunately no longer with us, so I dedicate this review to him, he who was also a fan of Seiko just like me, and this watch will remind me of the good times spent with him, this Seiko was his first who bought it new in the 80s, automatic caliber reference 7009-876A day date with a tonneau case typical of his years, I had the case back engraved in his memory, don't worry uncle it is in good hands. Rest in peace!

Here is the latest one which is a Seiko Alpinist the latest Prospex model reissue of the famous and much coveted Sarb017, with its green sunray dial and its gilt indexes!
My model came out with the famous cyclops on the date which spoils a little this sublime dial, without further ado I modified all that and with a little trick I removed all that to give Caesar what is Caesar's! 😉
Even if the date is white it does not shock at all, the watch is now to my taste with the crazy charm of this so emblematic model. You will see in the photos before and after the removal of the cyclops, good reading thank you.

Seiko alpinist prospex

Here is one of my vintage, a so-called jumbo Lip with a gold-plated case in the art deco style from the 50s I think with the famous R25, size 38 mm, good size for the time and small seconds, it has been restored, revised and re-plated by a watchmaker friend in Belgium, it is like new with its white dial which has suffered the traces of time with a lunar effect. A marvel and a piece of French watchmaking history on my wrist.

Here is a rather rare model, 
Indeed it is the first eco-drive model 
Presented in 1974 by Citizen, a prototype that was never marketed at the time, 
The first marketed model was released in 1976. 
In 2020 Citizen re-released this model in commemoration on the occasion of the anniversary of its marketing in Italy (which was at the time the first country to sell eco-drive models in Europe). 
It is a limited edition of 750 copies. 
And of which I am the happy owner, another piece of history on the wrist.

A marvel with its octagonal bezel in line with the style of that time!
I would add a dedication to Super Yo-yo, he will be recognized for his pipes because although it is in very good aesthetic condition, the bitch was a little capricious to start again!

The first time I saw this watch, I found it pretty ugly...
And then, as time went by, I found it "interesting" and even funny. The beige-gold color of the dial and bezel, alternating with the black case (more like graphite gray), is pleasant, and especially the four "bulges" that give the watch its identity began to catch my eye. I watched video reviews, all very positive, and analyzed its specifications, which finally convinced me to take the plunge.
You can find the model for under €300, so I wasn't taking a huge risk.
The caliber E168 is a quartz, Eco-Drive movement that guarantees (or is said to guarantee) a 180-day power reserve after brief exposure to light. You don't have to worry about anything...
My watch's drift has never exceeded 5 seconds per month.
The case is made of titanium: Citizen's Super Titanium. The watch is even lighter than I expected. It's barely noticeable on the wrist. It's really comfortable, and despite its somewhat bulky feel, I find it fits my small wrist very well.
The dial is easy to read with large indexes and large hands, except for the seconds hand, which is thin and lanceolate. I would have preferred it to lack the date, but the aperture is small and discreet, and I also find the 3 o'clock index to its right helps it blend in well.
The bezel rotates like a tractor, reinforcing the overall impression of robustness.
I find the crown, with its Citizen-style relief, to be a success. It's screwed down, and the watch is water-resistant to 200 meters.
The luminescence is truly impressive, as always with Citizen.
The rubber strap seems indestructible. It's stretchy, and the buckle doesn't pull any punches. Note that unlike many Casio G-shocks, once attached, it lies perfectly flat, which can be practical. I really recommend this watch if its looks don't put you off, for me it's the perfect watch for summer, and for backpacking: it's light but robust, water resistant to 200 meters, it requires no attention to operate, and it's super precise.

But big potatoes

I really like the Citizen brand, which makes many nice and reliable models at low prices. This one is powered by a solar Eco-drive that ensures precision and autonomy. But it's its very original look that seduced me. A crown in an unusual position, a 60 at 12 o'clock, a big black bezel and a touch of orange to brighten up the dial. I would add a comfortable rubber strap. The only downside is that the date window is strangely planted on the 3. It's not great. In conclusion, it's an unpretentious but pretty and pleasant watch.

Sporty and accessible

Citizen has relaunched the crystron model with a limited edition only for the Italian market. (3 variations, black dial shown here, green dial on black pvd and blue dial). The watch sports the 70's style of the crystron released for the first time in Italy (hence the limited edition in this country, 750 pieces per variation with numbering on the back). The career is fine and pleasant and can go as well to a woman as to a man. In broad terms: Mineral glass, 5atm, eco drive 6 months in the dark, day-date, 3 circles drawn on the glass. I particularly appreciate the lightness of the watch, the Milanese mesh bracelet facilitating the adjustment as well as the crown almost completely integrated into the case. At less than 200e this product is great!

Citizen Crystron 70's Style
