Rolex Submariner 124060 Owner Review : Essential, mythical and iconic

Well, I'm not going to dwell on the debates surrounding the brand with the crown. I'll just try to position myself by saying that I'm one of those who loves Rolex, for various reasons, but who doesn't necessarily ignore other brands. I also have an Oyster Perpetual 41 (review already submitted), and I was lucky enough to be able to buy them new from a dealership without having to prostitute myself too much. I would never have bought them second-hand, too afraid of being ripped off, but also because I like buying new in a store. I've always considered the Sub to be "THE" watch. If there were only one, it would be this one. So, no technical or even aesthetic considerations here; it's far superior to that. You can hate it, find it vulgar or too common, it doesn't matter. It's the Porsche 911 of watches, the one that stands the test of time; in short, it's a legend. Even though I own models from other fine brands, I have to admit that wearing a Rolex on my wrist has a special flavor. I don't really know how to describe it, but I'm always captivated by the quality of the workmanship and the precision of the adjustments. When you hold a (recent) Rolex in your hand, you feel that nothing has been left to chance, regardless of the model. Every detail has been analyzed, considered, and crafted without ever leaving room for convenience or improvisation. And that's what I love about Rolex. Even though I find them very beautiful, the 4- and 5-digit references are too much of a charm for my taste. And I also don't like the 114XXX references, which I find disproportionate. So for me, it'll be a 124XXX, and without the date, please! Because that's the real Sub. And even if it's a signature piece, whether you like it or not, a cyclops will always be a monster. With this reference, we got closer to the visual of the 14060, with a good manufacturing quality, it's the one that suits me best. Personally, I don't find it elegant, it remains relatively massive and sporty. I don't like to wear it as a shirt, what I prefer is to put it in a hoodie or t-shirt sauce, which suits it best in my opinion.
