Rolex Explorer II Owner Review : Serious, unavoidable and rigorous

I was looking for an entry point into the Rolex universe. Of course, there were those iconic models most often seen on the wrists of sophisticated divers, and those fluted dials that irresistibly catch the eye! I certainly like them too, but I wanted a more discreet and less obvious entry. The Explorer seemed ideal to accompany me on my everyday adventures. It has long since proven itself all over the world, in varied and not always easy environments. It is both straightforward and perfectly legible. Its 24-hour graduated bezel further emphasizes its adventurous side, while the GMT hand adds a touch of vibrancy and originality to this well-balanced dial. The watch's nighttime luminescence is truly ideal when light is scarce. The basic premise, with its GMT hand allowing the ultimate adventurer to distinguish between day and night when natural conditions make it impossible, makes it a legendary tool. Some swear by the white dial, but in my case—and this is a personal preference, of course—I much prefer it in black.
