"I don't wear a Tank to tell the time. In fact, I never wind it. I wear a Tank because it's the watch to wear."... A true classic, its design dating back to 1917—I won't bore you with a century of history. But it's been seen on the wrists of many, and not just any people... Andy Warhol, of course, Alain Delon, Lady Di, Muhammad Ali (the GOAT), and me too...
I haven't often felt such an urgent need to buy a watch as when the Solar Beat came out. Everything about it resonated with me: the history, the technology, the ethics (vegan strap), the timeless look, and on top of that, for 3,000 CHF, not even a few years ago, nothing was holding me back.

However, the apple peel strap (yes, it's a vegan strap...) was quickly replaced because I wore it a lot and even went jogging with it... I haven't done that since. Then it broke down after more than two years, even though the battery is supposed to last 16 years according to Cartier. Cartier had given me a six-year warranty, I think, and they didn't hesitate to repair it. However, they did replace the movement... Yes, for me it's not the same watch anymore; the case back was also changed. I expressed my surprise and am waiting to hear back from them. But I must say I appreciate how they treat their customers, unlike some other brands. So, there you have it, I don't regret my purchase; the Tank is essential to my collection.

What I can say about this watch after wearing it for over a year is that it's hard to wear anything else, but that's hardly news. It's the quintessential everyday watch. It has a prestigious history, even if that history is sometimes questioned. In any case, the 36mm size is perfect for everyday wear, incredibly comfortable, and it goes with everything, from any style to any activity. What I appreciate now (and what I would certainly have missed if I were younger) is its understated elegance. At the office, no one notices I'm wearing a Rolex (except for those in the know). It's not ostentatious; it manages to be discreet and elegant while giving the impression of wearing one of the best watches on the market, which remains relatively affordable, and it also evokes a sense of adventure. In short, I own a Rolex.

She needs no introduction

I fell in love with the malachite, but also with the Angles model from Beda'a (a brand) which had made a very good impression on me during a visit to the Beau Rivage in Geneva during the Geneva Watch Days. The welcome and presentation were excellent (we even left with a pair of socks as a gift!). I had the chance to try the watch on and knew how it looked on my wrist. The more I wear it, the more I appreciate it. It's very comfortable and slim. Quite discreet and original. The finishing is good quality for the price of 700 CHF. The dial is brushed on some of the edges. It's a shaped watch with a slight Piaget vibe and an oriental background (it's a brand from the Emirates). It's quite original, and the brand resonates with me.

a great classic this explorer 36 mm. No bad taste. Sober design and legendary origin. So classy in all circumstances. Its plus: it goes super well with a feminine wrist with its 36 mm. Besides, it is she who wears it :) this explorer is simple I will never part with it because it is the very essence of Rolex! My model is from 2001, a major overhaul was necessary 2 years ago. It is like new but with this little extra soul that its 25 springs give it.

My little classic!

Gold and steel, readable, luminescent, waterproof, robust, contained and without warts, it has everything to reach the top with class. In addition, being shunned by investor buyers, I was able to get it at a price significantly lower than the boutique price, which is rare these days with this brand.

My first "nice" watch was the Rolex Explorer 39mm (MK1) in 2010. After several months of internet research and visits to retailers, I completely fell for the Explorer, even though Rolex decided to switch from 36mm to 39mm. I loved this model but thought that the 36mm would have been ideal, thus better respecting its history. A little over a year ago, I made the decision to sell it to get the new 36mm version (reference 124270). Here we are…

This watch is simply exceptional, with notable improvements over the previous ones: the 3230 movement offering 72 hours of power reserve, blue luminescence on all the indexes, a very beautiful black lacquered dial and a particularly solid bracelet.

What I particularly like is its comfort, much better than the 39 mm and even the new 40 mm. It is a watch that is both sporty and chic, offering a beautiful presence while remaining discreet.

With a wrist of more than 17 cm, some may find it a little "small", especially because of the 19/14 bracelet which makes it thinner. But believe me, after a few days, you get used to it, and you quickly realize that it is actually an advantage, because the dial stands out more and the comfort is fabulous.

I have a collection of four watches, and this is without a doubt the one I wear the most. So yes, if I had to keep only one, it would be the Explorer 36.

If I had to keep just one...

At first, nothing was predestined for this timepiece to enter my collection. Already having the Explorer 2 in my possession, I made the mistake of trying on this little Explorer, not so small, and it was love at first sight. It has a crazy charm, this plethora of details, this size, this presence, this brilliance made me fall in love with this little gem. My AD was able to find me a model in just 2 days. What a joy to wear it every day, it is discreet and so classy that I never tire of contemplating the 3-6-9 adorned with its lumibright. As you will have understood, I am crazy about it. It is very pleasant to wear even if the adjustment was a little too tight at first, the easylink has restored a little grace to my wrist. Far from the madness of Daytona and other GMT Masters, it really deserves to be an icon. I advise you to try it on to realize that you have a sleeping monster there
