Pequignet Royale Origine Owner Review : Royal, harmonious and elegant

I recently purchased this Péquignet Royal Origine with the intention of adding a French-made watch to my collection, including the movement itself! Péquignet was the obvious choice, thanks to its aesthetics, history, and expertise. I chose this particular model for the beauty of its multi-guilloché dial, its blued hands, and its starry moon phase, not to mention its very impressive large-aperture date display (the day and date change instantaneously in a fraction of a second). As for the Royal caliber, I was blown away from the very first hours on my wrist. It's completely silent, and you can barely feel the oscillating weight moving. Aesthetically, it's a true beauty, with bridges adorned with exquisite Geneva stripes and the fleur-de-lis engraved on the oscillating weight. The (very) large mainspring barrel ensures this timepiece is remarkably stable, with extremely low daily drift. Let's add the 88-hour power reserve, although Péquignet thoughtfully indicates 72 hours, plus the last 16 hours for which isochronism isn't guaranteed (visible on the power reserve hand). In short, this watch meets all my expectations, and I'm still thrilled with it several months after buying it. This Péquignet has even become my daily watch, which wasn't the initial intention. In my opinion, despite Péquignet being a well-known brand, I think it deserves to be even more prominent as a flagship of French watchmaking. The good news for us enthusiasts is that we can find timepieces on the secondary market at very good prices.
