And here is a little design that makes me feel more than 40 years younger, quartz and digital are then invading the market and the 10-year-old kid that I was had of course learned to count but questions of hands.... what is that? LOL
That's when I received a model almost similar to this one with an open window on a rotating disk and which "gave" the time in a more subtle way than the simple digital dial. Certainly less precise but already the evocation of time passing.
So a little return to childhood with this Siboni Créative just for the pleasure of thinking back to those first watchmaking moments when I already didn't want to wear the same thing as my friends.
With its Milanese bracelet and without lugs it clearly asserts its retro origins.
I will only wear it on rare occasions, for fun only but I am happy that it joins my eclectic collection.

Back to 1979 or almost!

Wearing infinity on your wrist? That's what Venezianico claims in this new version of its classic Redentore model in the UltraBlack version. And I have to say that I think the promise has been kept!
The dial covered in Musou Black paint absorbs 99.4% of the light. It's hard to see it in the photos, but this deep black has a beautiful effect on the wrist. The absence of indexes also contributes to this effect, only the elegant logo at noon is present on the dial.
I chose the 40mm case (it also exists in 36mm), as well as the black calfskin strap and signed pin buckle (you can add a steel strap with a folding clasp, but that must significantly change the overall effect of the model).
On the back a beautiful engraving that represents space and its immensity, we will also note that the crown is signed with the brand logo which takes up the cross present at the top of the large clock on the "San Marco" square.
It is of course not a watch for every day, but it should not be restricted to only a tuxedo, it has its place on multiple occasions and allows you to engage in conversation with enthusiasts or the curious!


Black is Black

Second watch from this quality Chinese brand that enters my collection after the Blue Planet.
I was attracted of course by the design proposal and by this evolution of the original model which is now presented in titanium.
Several small details explain the reasons why it won the "German Design Award" in 2020, such as the shape of the case which is "skeleton" on the sides with the 4 decorative screws, of course on its dial and the technical hands with red details. The brand name is repeated on the left side and on the right side we have a crown protector that fits very well.
All this in a finally contained case of 41x48mm (almost without lugs) which sits well on my 17.5cm wrist and a special mention for the thickness of 12.4mm (rare on this type of model). Sapphire crystal perfectly integrated into the case
Of course it is very light with its 53g, so it sometimes takes a little time to adapt, but in the end it is rather pleasant.
Delivered with 2 bracelets that allow it to radically change style, the orange rubber (very good quality) being very sporty and the black leather (of quite good quality) on the contrary rather chic.
Only regret the 3 ATM, but it is not too annoying either, you just have to think about it especially when you wear it with the rubber.

Skelethon & Titanium

After a "wish" expressed at the Salon Vendôme and 3 years of waiting, this latest addition to my collection arrived on my birthday! Sportier than my Nautilus, this steel model with tropical bracelet is very comfortable to wear and will soon accompany me on trips to use its "travel time" function which displays a second hour hand to remind me of the time at "home". The two buttons on the left of the case allow this adjustment in order to advance or retreat the time and thus not lose the day/night indication which is present at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock. Finally, the date is at 6 o'clock in a dedicated counter. Very beautiful finishes as always at Patek, both on the polished case and the brushed bezel. The PP-stamped movement is visible and also gives pride of place to the gold rotor. Finally, the bracelet is fitted with a butterfly folding clasp with a logo and perfectly adjusted. An old proverb says that patience is the key to joy, and right now I'm the happiest person in the world!

Patek Frequent Traveller 

An exceptional model for a unique occasion, my 50th birthday. It was well before the craze that recently took hold around these models and I was able to acquire this timepiece from the Patek Vendôme Salon with a very professional background and a more than reasonable waiting time because at the time the rose gold version was not in great demand for this more sporty than dressy world, basically. Very fine and harmonious, a bracelet with a comfort never found elsewhere and this brown dial that reflects the light in 1000 ways. It is by far the most beautiful piece in my collection and I try to wear it as soon as an occasion arises because it is immediately recognized and allows you to start a discussion with fans.

Precious Nautilus

Inspiration, homage, copy, I won't get into this quarrel... but here is what pushed me to take the plunge on this model: to add or not a skeleton model to my collection, and this crucial question of course came during confinement. So what could be more natural than to test the skeleton "style" for a small price. My choice therefore fell on this model with a 43mm case for 13mm thickness, sapphire crystal and ceramic bezel. Transparent back and skeletonized oscillating weight as well. It kept all its promises for a budget in only two figures. The power reserve given for 3 days is around 60 hours and I tested the 10 ATM announced in the swimming pool, the screwed crown did the job well. It is robust and the oyster bracelet as well as the clasp are of quality. I enjoy wearing it on occasion and I find that it has its place in the variety of models in my collection. Finally to finish this allowed me to answer the initial question on skeleton or not skeleton, and well there won't be any others I think (of skeleton, because I then acquired a second Pagani... you can't change your ways!=
