A heart-throb purchase, during the 1st COVID in March 2020... That's the story of this Omega Seamaster F300Hz! It joined my Omega Constellation D-Shape as the 2nd Omega equipped with the ESA caliber under Bulova's Accutron patent. Its look is absolutely crazy with a huge volcano-shaped bezel! With its very particular sound and characteristic of the "Tuning Fork" calibers, it feels like it's going to erupt! As often, I bought it at auction on Catawiki... An interesting platform for the choice but not the most interesting intermediary to find little nuggets. Indeed the watch strap is a Franken Bracelet with different "end-links" links... Not a big deal, but one day I'll have to get the right ones! The dial is marked... but uniformly! It's like cracked as if it had been heated with a blowtorch... Not bad for my little Vulcano. Another reference exists with the crown at 2 o'clock that catches my eye with its asymmetrical side! In the end, it's a watch that I wear too little... The Day-Date setting is complicated with the miniature crown and in addition the mechanism is fragile with a plastic date wheel! The question is always the same! What does this watch tell me? It tells me about a bygone era where mainstream brands like Omega fought as best they could not to be swept away by Japanese Quartz... It has the look and the fragility of its time and that makes it a wonderful collector's watch...
