Lorca Modèle n° 1 GMT Owner Review : Elegant, precise and robust

Perfectly proportioned: 36mm in diameter (37mm with the bezel), 44mm lug to lug, 11.2mm thick, and 19mm lug width. It houses a SOPROD C125 R4 (Top Grade) movement, regulated here to -4/+4 seconds per day. All this with 200m water resistance, a 6mm screw-down crown, and a double-domed sapphire crystal. The fixed circular brushed steel bezel reveals the 24-hour markings in a font that is both beautiful and subtle, making the GMT function very discreet. I opted for the elegance of the sunburst silver dial (rather than the contrast of a lacquered black), but legibility is not compromised. The polished dauphine hands perfectly complement the applied hour markers. These markers overlap a minute track that draws the eye to a subtle crosshair, highlighting the precision of this beautiful timepiece. The date, essential on a GMT, is perfectly integrated via a trapezoidal window angled towards the dial. The discreet, diamond-shaped GMT hand sweeps across the rehaut, adding to its charm. We could stop there and say that Jesse Marchant has created a truly accomplished watch, but we must mention the bracelet. It is exceptional. Somewhere between a rice grain and a jubilee bracelet, it hugs the wrist perfectly. It adds an extra touch of elegance, and for comfort, Lorca has integrated a quick-adjustment system into the folding clasp, which is calligraphed with the brand's "L." The bracelet is seamlessly integrated into the case via brushed end pieces. In short, the 2901 Model No. 1 is a blend of elegance and technical prowess. A true "tool watch" that can be worn in any situation.
