I bought this Kerbedanz primarily for its most striking features: its style, its color, and above all, its completely unique design. It doesn't look like much else, and that's precisely what attracted me. The first time I actually held it, my reaction was quite simple: impressive. It's an imposing watch, with a real presence on the wrist, and personally, I love that. As a Greubel Forsey fan, watches that take up a bit of space have never really bothered me. But what's surprising about the GR8 is how quickly you forget its size: it's not heavy and it's genuinely very comfortable to wear. It's visually striking without being physically cumbersome. What I love most is that its originality never feels gratuitous. The design is spectacular, yes, but you can tell that every element has been carefully considered. There's an incredible amount of detail, volume, and depth, yet the whole thing remains cohesive. This is probably what photos don't capture very well: they completely flatten the 3D effect and can make it seem like reading the time is complicated. In reality, on the wrist, it's absolutely not the case. I'm honestly trying to find a flaw to point out, and for once, I can't really find one. Not because I want to defend my watch at all costs, but simply because after wearing it, nothing bothers me or makes me want to change anything. It's exactly what I expected. And then there's something I really enjoy: curiosity. It's a rare watch, little known to the general public and even uncommon among enthusiasts. Those who see it ask questions, try to understand what they're looking at, and that's exactly the kind of timepiece I love. Finally, it has a more personal dimension for me. Two friends are closely linked to this brand: Vahé, whom I've had the pleasure of following through several watchmaking ventures, from Roger Dubuis to Girard-Perregaux, Greubel Forsey, HYT, and then Kerbedanz, and Martin, who is also a very good friend. Naturally, this gives this watch a special place in my collection. Ultimately, this Kerbedanz is exactly that: a watch you don't buy because you need it, nor because it's sensible. You buy it out of passion.
