First Rolex in my collection, I wanted to go for a simple, contained model but with a touch of color on the dial. I was able to buy this Datejust without a waiting list but by bowing a little to my Montreal AD after a 1-hour visit to his store and the explanation of what this watch represents for me, my marriage and the watch that I will keep for life (I hope ;-)).
Simple, effective but devilishly successful, I don't know what else to say about this watch that represents the quintessence of simple but successful things. This watch made me realize that I was perhaps not made for watches with designs that are perhaps more pronounced in colors.
It sits very well on the wrist and is forgotten because of its small size.
Note that the cyclops gets a bit "dirty", so that's a criterion to take into account.
I'm already thinking about the second one from the brand with the crown, Polished central link? Pro clasp? Cyclops? This datejust makes me aware of a lot of things and is really a very nice watch to enter the Rolex universe.

Quintessence of simplicity done right

My Longines Spirit titanium 40mm is a special watch for me. It is my engagement watch. The Longines is full of details, between the railroad including diamonds on which the second hand sits perfectly. But also, magnificent gold applied indices. As for the case, Longines alternates polymirror and brushed with the presence of well-marked chamfers. Note the presence of a large crown accentuating the aviation side of the watch.

The level of finish is impeccable and rivals its competitors at this price point... Yes, I'm looking at you Tudor.

I find the titanium very successful, there is no play on the titanium bracelet offering quick pumps.
The watch is COSC certified and alternates at 3Hz extending the power reserve to 72 hours.

Titanium Balance

The black bay pro... A watch loved when it came out, many were skeptical about its thickness, but no. So yes, it is thick, despite all the comfort on the wrist is present and its thickness disappears as you wear it.

I bought it to have the GMT function, I live in Canada while being French. Also, it closes the chapter of years of study.

I had it on his nato, a nato of good quality but not being a fan of nato, I had to buy a few other bracelets. I recommend the president bracelet from Uncle strap, very comfortable with its short links, but without T-fit.
I also recommend the port Louis bracelet from Avel and Men, the yellow is identical.

A watch full of personality

Steve McQueen's German chronograph... I'm talking of course about the 417 ES from Hanhart. The watch I own has the little particularity of having a Flyback movement, allowing a return in flight of the chrono function. Possessing a 30-minute counter, and a counter for the seconds, this panda chrono has a hell of a look. 
It also has a fluted bezel (a bit like the Oris pointer date) but this one is rotating and marked with a small red line. 
The Hanhart bracelet does not have micro adjustments but is very qualitative.

Mythic Robust Class

Luminova, colorful, all round. This hermetic was a hit and these 3 points are answers to this success.
I took the green version, I hesitated with the blue one. The green one has a green luminova working very well. The watch is 37.5mm and has a Miyota series 9 (like many Miyota), the crown is the most critical point, being embedded in the case. One might think that the watch is difficult to wind. Indeed it is, but no need to wind it. A reset to the time, and wearing it on the wrist does the rest without winding the watch with the crown.
